Aarti congratulations!! I was soo happy that you won, since I was a huge fan of yours since the get-go and plus I am glad about all the recipes that you bring out with the taste of Indian spices since I have seen and heard lots and lots of people who get intimidated by the Indian food. I like the way you come up with the twist in your food. The favorite dishes that I love cooking is Indian and Italian. Will defnitely watch your show. Good Luck for your future endeavors!! I would also love to share lots of Indian recipe that I have in mind and I try to give a twist to it all the time :)

    Cheers,
    Priyanka

    Hi Aarti!

I just wanted to wish you a personal congrats! My mom, sister, and I have been watching from the beginning… and we’ve been rooting for you since day one (yes, even considering the raw chicken!). It seems like you have the most infectious personality, and I can’t wait for the show. In fact, I’m already an Aarti Paarti veteran… I made some samosas for the family! They were great! Anyway, congrats again, and you can be sure I’ll be watching on Sunday!

  18. Donna

Congrats — I’m so glad you won!! The graphics look awesome.. Love that there’s a flower in there too!

  19. Chas

Great job! Looking forward to the premiere this coming week. The final show on Food Network Challenge did not do your pilot justice. It looked like the other two would win. I was completely surprised. However after viewing all 3 pilots in the entirety on the Food Network website… your pilot was the best. (Note: The Food Network website has all 3 pilots to view)

Best of luck… looking forward to the show.

  20. jeju

hey aarti, i saw you on LX NY and really perked up when you talked about incorporating indian food into european-style recipes. i really want to get into indian food since i used to hate it, but i found an awesome place in town i eat at all the time. and i want to learn about how to improvise with indian ingredients. good luck with your new show. too bad they made you change the name.

  23. Anupama

    Hi Aarti,

My Hearty Congrats to you for becoming the Foodnetwork Star. Finally, I am getting an Indian food show. We really need a completely different show – am bored of watching the same old Italian etc. I would like to see you grow to Emmy winning stars like Ina, Bobby, Rachel etc. I would like to share some tips since I am getting Indian cooking show..hope u dont mind:

    1) Apart from regular dishes that we get in America like the Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Naan etc dishes – please show us the authentic dishes like the Idli, Dosa, Biryani etc. in the simplified style. Even though I am a South Indian – I can still use those tips in my everyday cooking.

    2) You should shoot an exclusive show on Indian pantry that has the spices, Vegetables etc. Remember – we eat a lot of different veggies like bitter melon, curry leaves, amaranth leaves, sorrel leaves etc

    3) Every state in India has its own unique recipes for example Dum Biryani, Sorrel chutney, Mirchi Ka Salaan from Andhra pradesh, Rasam, Sambar etc from Tamil Nadu, Bisi Belabath etc from Karnataka, Meen Moyili from Kerala and so on and so forth. Please do shows focusing on one state and their special foods. Giada does the same – I watch her show regularly and sometimes she does shows about Northern Italian, Sicily etc.

    4) Indian food is all about techniques, spices, taste and flavor. Please tell America that Indian food is not always about Garam Masala.

    5) Indian food takes a lot of time – please share your tips and techniques for entertaining friends and family with good food even for people who have full time jobs – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian stuff that I can make it in advance and dont have to slave in the kitchen..

Hope u like these tips. Cant wait to watch your show!! Good luck Aarti

    Aarti,

Don’t feel so pressured about responding to all of us. You are accepted among the beloved and His grace is sufficient for you! Enjoy the ride, share what you can and never let people be your rudder. Be lead forth with peace, not pressure. We are rooting (and praying) for you.

I have a package of lentils I purchased at an Indian market, now what? I’m totally intimidated by the little orange dahlings. HELP.

  26. Katie P

Aarti – CONGRATS!! I absolutely adored watching you on the Next Food Network Star! I LOVE to cook and blog about it, and seeing that one of us food bloggers actually turned it into something is fantastic!

Not to mention that I’m psyched about learning more about Indian flavors. I love the food, but need a little know-how to pull it off in the kitchen! I’ve already got your new show set up to record on my DVR! Can’t wait to see the first episode!!

  27. Magnolia Mom

How funny is that! As I was reading this post, your commercial for your show came on Food Network. Although, I haven’t got to watch the finale yet (because I’m waiting for it to show up on On-Demand), I’m excited to see you shine on your show. Congrats!

  28. Marian

    Aarti,

Congrats on the win. I’m a newbie to FNS and was blown away the first time I watched it. Must say that I love Indian food but can never find good recipes until now! Love the Food Network site and the graphics, they’re so fun! Can’t wait for the show to start!

    Congrats again!

  34. Laura

Aarti!!!! You won!!!! I am so excited for you!! My sister sent me a link to your website, and I’m so glad she did. As a busy mom to three girls ranging in ages from 11 years old to 3, I did not have much time while following the show to look around online to see if you had a blog or website of any kind. I’m glad to know about it now, and I can’t wait to try some of your recipes. My girls and I loved watching The Next Food Network Star together, and you were our favorite from the beginning!! We wish you warm congratulations and many blessings in the days ahead as you follow Him on the journey. God bless you. Please know that you’ll have four devoted fans in Tennessee watching your new Food Network show! :)

  37. Susie

Got this package if Split Urad— not a clue how to use them and too intimidated to take them out of the pantry—Heeeelp…….
It would be great if before your episodes air we could get a list of the ingredients we need to follow along with you either on the FN site or here—–Bombay Sloppy Joes– I’m intrigued…….

  38. nikki

    Aarti–
Just wanted to say congrats! I wasn’t going to watch FNS ever again if you didn’t win!
It is so inspiring to see a “food blogger” be able to accomplish so grand!
    God is good!
Are you still going to keep up with your blog?
I love seeing all the recipes and everything… so i hope so!

  39. Sandy

Love your show page and my DVR is set and ready to go!! Notice you are making the massaged kale salad on your first show-dare you to do it like on your blog-that would be awesome and would certainly blow some minds!! Also looking forward to your sloppy joes-I don’t do burgers but I’m already planning some tacos using your recipe with a side of raita and chutney!! Can’t wait til Sunday!!

  40. Shubha

Hi Aarti, I just checked-out your show page, I thought your show would be called Aarti-Paarti, but insteady see Aarti-Party…any reason for the change in name? But it still sounds great..good luck!

  41. Marisa Bono

    Aarti,

You were my number one pick since the fourth episode of FNS, and my husband could not believe how I was screaming and jumping up and down when you won! You are so talented and fun to watch, I can’t wait to see the new series.

Hi Aarti, Let me start out by saying Congratulation!!!!! I only watched the last 3 episodes and few of your videos now, I am in love with your yummy food and beautiful personality. I am so excited to finally have a Indian on food network but more than that, it is awesome to know that you are a Christian and were so open about your faith in your show by quoting the bible verse about fear. I had everyone in my family praying for u to win. It is truly great that you won and super excited about your OWN SHOW, I wish you all the very best in this new blessing. Oh I can’t wait to try out your recipes.

  43. Shari

I have a question about the pizza recipe…I made your youtube one for the finale, and then you changed up some ingredients in the pilot.

When I added the tandoori paste, it turned everything pink (!), but that wasn’t in the FN version.l Does tandoori turn everything red/pink? It’s a new ingredient for me, and I would love to learn how to use it!

    CONGRATS!!!!

  44. Steve

I finally saw the promotion for your new show and I must say that your kitchen at Food Network looks really beautiful. Looking forward to your “Party”!

Aarti, I was so happy when you won, I thought you had the best concept for a new show on the food network. You have such a warm and welcoming tv personality, which I think is why people respond so well to you. I haven’t had very many Indian dishes, but after watching the dishes you’ve made you make me want to get in my kitchen and start trying new recipes. I wish you much success and look forward to watching your show.

  80. Trina Portland,TX

Saw your first show today.. Sorry will not tune in again. Back to french cooking. Good luck anyway………

  81. Annie

Aarti, I loved your first episode, and can hardly wait to try out the new recipes from today. All three sound fabulous. You’re a hit at my house! Looking forward to more yummy stuff.

  82. page

Aartie; please, please take your spatula out of your food while you are cooking it! It leaves the plastic residue and chemicals behind and also the plastic taste. That is horrible you are leaving it in while you are boiling stuff. I would NOT eat your food cause you leave your utensils in it. And it is unsanitary. please put them on a plate to the side. This is my request. You are throwing way to many items at people. Sorry. :( > DO NOT GIVE MY EMAIL OUT TO ANYONE> Thanks and have a good show. Rachael should have told you to take your spatula out of the cooking. :( >

  83. Matt

    Aarti,
Congrats on your victory. During the airing of the Next Food Network Star, my 4-year old daughter always asked “Where’s the girl with the flower in her hair on my favorite show?” She was looking for the flower in your hair on your pilot.
Along with your new creations, I hope you’ll post some traditional recipes as well. For starters, I’m really looking forward to Chicken Tikka Masala recipe.
Good luck with your new show.
    - Matt

  84. Elisha

    Hi Aarti,

Congrats on the big win! You were my favorite from the start! I am half Indian, but lost my father when I was very young and was not exposed to that side of my culture growing up since most of his family is in India.

I’ve always struggled to order Indian food at restaurants with friends and was very ashamed about it. I can’t wait to try out the recipes from your site and from the show!

    Good luck with your show!
    ~ Elisha

  85. Mira

    Hi Aarti,
Congrats on winning. Been rooting for you since the beginning.
My friend’s love Indian food and are always asking me for recipes.
I am referring my non vegetarian friend’s over to your site as they love indian food and are always asking me for recipes ,and i can only accomodate them with veggie dishes.
    Keep up the good work.
Lots of luck with your new tv show and hope it stays a success and not taken off the air as some of the winner’s shows were.
    Good luck.
    Mira

  86. Kati

Congrats! I was SO happy when they announced you as the winner!! I can’t wait to watch your first episode (I DVR’d it)…..it’ll be awesome to have a different type of cuisine to learn on Food Network!

  87. Diane

Just watched your first show. Wow! I’ve lived over half a century and never wanted to try kale…. until now. You’re changing the way America eats!. Can’t wait until show number 2.

  88. Rhonda

    Aarti Congratulations!
My daughters and I were cheering you on during the New Food Network Chef. You did a great job! Saw the new show today. It was great. I”m looking forward to trying your recipes. Is the kitchen that you are filming in really your kitchen or did they put something together for you that quickly on the set? I love the colors and how it’s set up.
Once again congrats! Looking forward to watching more of your shows!

    Rhonda

  89. Angela

Loved your new show. I loved the kale/mango salad …I have access to mangos and it is my next dish. I blogged on the beatnik spinach…because I loved the recipe. I am trying to make Palak Paneer and something along that line. We non-indian chefs w/no indian friends or relatives have been programmed on what is accessable, either in local restaurants or in the supermarket…only problem I can’t replicate for dinner party or at home dinners…. Thank you so much for creating or SHARING such satisfying meals.

  90. Penny Karrer

Congratulations on your new show! I watched it today and was totally impressed! It didn’t even seem like the first show; it seemed like you had been doing the show for years, you were such a natural in front of the camera!

I’m excited to try making some of your food, too! I only have one problem, though – I have a cumin allergy! I’m hoping that you can let me know sometime if I should leave it out of the recipes or if there is something I can substitute for it.

    Thanks!

  91. Flotch

So glad you won the contest. Had no idea your roots traced to Bombay like mine. It’s always nice to see someone from the same background make it big – gives us all hope!
So did you play arty party (the game) when you visited India on vacation from Dubai?

  92. JTS

My 8 year old made you a “congrats” card! She has been watching you on Food Network and is a HUGE fan! Is there a way to email you this lovely card or to send it somewhere? She is so excited for you!!! (We are all, of course, thrilled you won!)

  93. Kerri

Loved watching you and everyone on FNC this season (my first time watching) I was hooked! You always lit up the room. I wish I could say I was rooting for you all the way but I dont like curry and some of the Indian spices but I really really like you as a person and found your food to be almost irresistible as the judges would explain how it was always warm and inviting and delicious. I love to cook that way.
Now reading on GlutenFreeVille that you are going GF I was intrigued!! Aarti! I found out in May of this year that I am Gluten Intolerant, after all these years and strange symptoms this is where I landed! It has been so stretching for me to learn to cook differently after 30 years of cooking for my family the traditional way : (. After realizing my daughter (25) is GI as well it has been interesting around here I am either going to have to learn to like Indian spices or I will learn to make adjustments which I am getting very good at!!! haha. I learned to like Cilantro and Cumin! Not quite the same I know…lol.

    Aarti,

I have nothing new to say that hasn’t already been said but I just wanted to say that you were one of my fav’s on “The Next Food Network Star” and I’m so glad that you won! My husband is from India and I’m from the U.S. so cooking has always been a challenge for us. I can’t wait to try your recipes, it’s like an east meets west explosion in a good way. We need more Indian food and influences on the Food Network and you are Godsend!

  115. amber

hi! love your show! I have so much fun watching it and you always make me and my 11 yr old stepson hungry!!!!
I wanted to know how to spell (or properly say) the round can of spices that you have and where can we get one (wouldnt it be cool if you actually marketed them?). I would really like something like that maybe with the little round spice bowls having plastic lids so everything stays fresh. If you could let us viewers know (unless you have already and sorry if you have but i could not google it enough) that would be awesome!

    THanks
