CONGRATS! I think your site got overloaded when you won, b/c it was crashed for a while, but I’m so excited for you! Thanks for being sincere, funny, and bringing your unique point of view to the kitchen and the TV! Lead the Indian-fusion revolution

  16. Ben

Congratulations, Aarti! I was rooting for you from week 1 and it quickly became apparent that you have what it takes. Herb and Tom were great, too, but you were the clear winner.

I’m so glad you won and I’ll definitely be a big fan of your show. Can’t wait to start trying out some of your Indian-fusion recipes. Congratulations again and we’re all really excited for you!!

  17. Jolie

CONGRATULATIONS! You were incredible. I said from the beginning, I would watch that girl! Your voice is so relaxing, your demeanor is very calm and controlled. I liked the other guys but they were a bit too frantic. You were just right. Besides, when Bobby Flay wants to open an Indian restaurant with you, how could you NOT win! Best of luck!

  18. Rose

Congratulations Aaru. We are all filled with pride and love.

Great job! Battle well fought with dignity and grace. Loved how there was no bickering and backbiting among the contestants and how you guys genuinely loved each other. So proud of how you put your belief into practice – Matthew 22:36-40.

Praying for a great future in this new career. May the Lord’s favour rest on you and may everything you do bear good fruit.

    Love Mum

  19. Micah

I could not be happier for you. I find you such an inspirational person. Watching you grow over the course of the season was a delight. You remind me of myself in many ways, though we couldn’t be more different. There is only one YOU, Aarti! ONE! And you are sensational! So sensational, in fact, that I feel compelled to share this with you. I hope you find it as inspiring as I do!! xoxo, Micah Wylie

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. If you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is; nor how valuable it is; nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.”

  29. ZAI

Ok, I know this is really lame but I’m REALLY excited that you won. I obviously don’t know you, but I totally feel like you could have been one of my childhood friends from my hometown in India AND so many of your dishes are *just* as my mom/grandmom would make them – the green masala chicken, in particular comes to mind.

On that note YAY! Congratulations, its SO awesome to see a South Asian (Chef?) on the Food Network AND, better yet, one that really knows her stuff! Good luck, can’t wait to watch the new show.

  30. Jessi

  32. Kris

Dear Aarti, I’ve never been caught up in one of these contest shows before, but I was so happy to see tonight that you won! All of you 3 young people in the last episode cooked very well, but you were the one that I thought I could learn from. I am 52, born in the US, of diverse immigrant families, and I have worked in international business for many years including in India. I am also a single parent and do not come from wealth, so I very much appreciate your practicalty. You are the age of my nieces.
You are a brave young woman, and I look forward to learning from you. In my tradition, we say Mazel Tov! Kris Hoover

  33. Marci in Miami

Congratulations! We were all pulling for you and now I can’t wait to learn how to cook Indian food from you!!!

  35. Jessie D'Souza

Congratulations Aarti!!! I live in Canada with my husband and two boys. We have been routing for you all along. We are one episode behind here and I just couldn’t sleep hoping, praying for you to win though in my heart I knew you were “The Winner”. I was up since 2 a.m. and while I lay in bed, kept wondering if you had won. At 4 a.m. I went on the food network site and was elated to know that you were the next food network star. Thank You Jesus!!! I did vote for you and happy that we finally have you with an Indian background on Food Network. I am a Goan Indian (now Canadian), born in Mumbai. Very passionate about food and enjoy cooking, baking on a daily basis. Love, love… watching the Food Network and a big fan of most of the chefs. Can’t wait to watch your show. Goodluck & All The Best!!! Would love to share some of my recipes with you.

  55. Santosh

CONGRATULATIONS Aarti!! I am so ecstatic about your win. Atlast there is someone on the FOOD NETWORK who can cook Indian food. Always wondered why everyone thinks Indian cuisine is so intimidating!! But guess you are the answer to that question, by trying to simplify the recipes to make them more interesting for EVERYONE to try and ENJOY in their own kitchens!! Can’t wait till AARTI PAARTI’s on the FN. Good Luck and Keep Smiling!!

  82. Erica Letourneau

Congratulations! Aarti, you are the *real* deal, and I’m so excited to see your show. I loved this season of NFNS. You, Herb, and Tom are all so genuine and *real*; while you were my favorite, it seemed a shame for any of you three to lose! Anyway, congrats again. 85. Keeley

Congrats! I KNEW you were the winner from the first episode! You were my favorite all along and as cheesy as it sounds, I nearly cried when you won!

It must have been so hard to keep the secret!

I can’t wait to watch your show! (Next week?!) I’m so happy for you.

  86. FoxyKate

I have four kids. I don’t watch TV, like, EVER. And I will wholly admit that we, as a family, have gotten sucked into this show because my 8yo son loves the food network. We’ve been rooting for you the whole time, even as we’ve loved some of the other contestants – Herb especially, because my husband’s family is Cuban & I think all the kids can relate to his stories of a well-fed, delicious and chunky childhood!

We wouldn’t let anyone stay up late last night to watch the finale, but I admit that I woke up to pee & snuck my iPhone into the bathroom with me to look & see if you’d won. And then we all had breakfast this morning & then sat down to fast-forward through the commercials. Still, at the end, we called it for you – even the baby!

Congratulations, Aarti, from all the Lopezes. My son has already set the DVR for next week…

  87. Nili

So excited for you Aarti! I was pulling for you from the start and can’t wait to try your recipes and learn some new stuff! I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue to Bless and Keep you!

  89. Rebecca

Keep up the amazing work, we all look forward to watching you thrive!

I too have a dream of someday foodblogging . . . the problem is, I am a much better eater than I am a cook!

    Love & marigolds,

  103. Anonymous

Congratulations Aarti! Just dont forget about all of us here at your blog! We hope you keep blogging!

  104. Sharanya

I was jumping when I saw you win yesterday !!! I felt like some version of myself have won and in some ways I consider it my own personal victory because it crushed my “I am not good enough” attitude and it really gave me a hope that as long as you honestly try to follow your passion, everything kind of works out in the end and even if does not work out you will atleast know that you have tried and that itself is success.
Anyways congratulations and I am really looking forward to seeing your shows:)

  105. Suja

Congrats Aarti!!!. I knew for sure you would win. I am sooo happy to see you win and finally there is an Indian Chef on the Food Network.

Looking forward to watching your shows.

    You are Great!

    Suja

  106. Jess

Congratulations!!!! I’ve been rooting for you since I started watching Next Food Network Star. I LOVE attempting to cook Indian food and reading your recipes has really helped me! My boyfriend and I had to hunt around for a public TV to watch the finale last night, since our cable isn’t set up yet. I think we scared a few people cheering when you won!! ;)
I can’t wait to watch your cooking show!!!!

    -Jess

PS: can you post more of your crocheting projects, if you have time? I’m thinking about doing a crocheting blog!!

  107. Angela

CONGRATS AARTI! I was pulling for you the entire time! I look forward to watching your show!

  108. Sharanya

I was jumping when I saw you win yesterday !!! I felt like some version of myself have won and in some ways I consider it my own personal victory because it taught me that you don’t have be extraordinary to make it. You can make mistakes, you have self doubts but as long as you keep trying everything kind of works out in the end and even if does not work out you will at least know that you have tried and that itself is success.
Anyways congratulations and I am really looking forward to seeing your shows:)

  109. Debbie

I could hardly believe it last night, Aarti! I so wanted it to be you that I was afraid it wasn’t going to be! So excited for you & to watch your new show & try some new “tastes!”

  111. JaimeJenn

I am SO happy for you Aarti! I knew you’d get it from the very beginning! Can’t wait to see your show! You are blessed!

  112. Jessica

Congrats! I really loved all of the finalists, but I really wanted you to win so I could see some more of your recipes!!

  113. dave

aarti: congrats on getting your show, aarti paarti! i definitely was rooting for you. i think the concept is good – as you will blend indian cooking, techniques and spices to already recognized american staples.

the doesn’t mean you have to stop there. i think you could show folks that an indian curry (meat or vegetable) can be easy to make, healthy and super delicious. regardless, you’ll do a good job. i love indian food and the food network needed you!

an aside – it would be of tremendous benefit to the brooklyn folks if you could open a restaurant somewhere in kings county that has good indian food. i have queried a bunch of people. as bobby flay and cat cora said, they want to be a part of if you open an indian restaurant, this would be true of all brooklynites craving some really good indian food. an idea that needs to be met here in the best of the five boroughs.

best of luck and i look forward to learning from your program!

  114. Deana Birks

So excited for you! I’ve been rooting for you from week one. Can’t wait to see your show. Congratulations

  115. Jenipurr

Congratulations! All three finalists were terrific, but you definitely deserved the win, and we’re so excited for you. Looking forward to seeing your show once it airs!

  116. Annette

Congratulations Aarti! You have been delightful to watch and your recipes are tempting me to try new flavors.

  117. Jason Lantz

I have to admit I’m kind of shocked to be the first one to congratulate you on your site (unless these are being moderated and you’re recovering from celebration). My wife and I are very excited to finally learn how to cook good Indian food. We’ve had numerous failed or mediocre attempts in the past with Indian flavors, but none have come close to the flavors we love at Indian restaurants. I think Aarti Paarti was a great choice to add to the Food Network lineup.

Having just discovered your blog recently, we also hope you continue providing great recipes here.

  118. Viswa

No Comments? I cannot believe it. You are absolutely lovely on television. We were so ecstatic when you won, because we were rooting for the Indian flavour on Food network.

    Looking forward to your episodes!

  119. Kahri

Aarti! Congratulations!!! Looking forward to watching your show. You have such a sweet and bubbly personality. Can’t wait to see more of you and try your recipes!

Congratulations Aarti! I am sooo happy for you! As a young Indian women who loves watching Food Network, I was definitely feeling a void in there not being an Indian cooking show. Since day 1, I have been praying that you win, because you make indian cooking so easy and fun that even I could master it! I tired a couple recipes off your youtube channel and shared them with friends. They turned out amazing by the way. Now, I can’t wait for Aarti Paarti to be on the air so I can watch and learn how to make some dishes that my parents will enjoy too! Congrats again! Can’t wait to see what else God’s got planned for you!

    God Bless,

    Aarti,
We are so happy for you! We were watching the whole season cheering you on and held our breath last night waiting for your picture to show up. I hoped the food network could see your awesome-ness as we see it. I loved when you put your finger on your forehead and said that “it was like God said boop you are going to have a cooking show”. You are so right. He knew before you did! I love that you are so authentic and don’t hide your faith. Stay true to you, even in the spotlight. I know you are going to go far. You were meant to do this girl! Many, many, many congratulations!

Hope the Food Network lets you keep your blog going. It’s what made us fall in love with you in the first place. : )

Aarti!! I am so proud of you! I was pulling for you from the beginning and I nearly jumped out of my seat when your new show was announced! I am thrilled to see a voluptuous, happy woman who is proud to cook and glad to eat! I am an avid cook who is very comfortable with my hearty American cuisine, but with your recipes and my husband’s encouragement I cannot wait to add “a little exotic to our everyday”.

    Good for you!
    The Morgans

  171. Chalcedonysparrow

You’re beautiful inside and out, and can’t wait to watch your show. Your look and personality reminded me a little of my wife…like you were almost an Indian version of her (though I dare not say it). Then she started watching the show and said that she would be the same way you were! LOL…I guess I’m off the hook! You’re very inspiring to go for your goals and obtain your dreams and to just keep at it! Stay cute but proud and confident!!

  178. jessica

I’m so happy God wanted you to win the Next Food Network Star! It was fun watching. I don’t know why God didn’t want Brad to win. And I sure don’t know why God wanted my friend, a 45 year old father of 3 lovely daughters, to become stricken with stage IV stomach cancer. I also don’t know why he wanted thousands of Afghani women to be slaughtered. Well who cares about that…I mean, you won! God cares about the Food Network! It’s all Good! Thank you Father!

  179. Timo

    Congratulations Aarti!

  180. Jessica

Aarti, congratulations!!!! I am so glad that you won the NFNS! In all honesty, I have never been interested in Indian food before. But you have actually made me want to bring in some of those Indian flavors and ingredients to my dishes. Every single thing I saw you make on the show, as well as everything you’ve posted here, looks like something I could make. I want to try everything! And you are just so adorable. So all those factors caused me to root for you from the beginning. I am so excited for you! I also appreciate your honesty about struggling to find your inner confidence and security. I’ve so been there too! You’re going to be a great addition to Food Network; your food is beautiful, you are approachable, and you make Jesus shine. Go, girl!

    Love,
    Jessica

    Aaarti –
We are “whoohoo”ing along with you! My 7 yr old daughter, Nina, is adopted from India and has watched you in every show, rooting for you with all her little heart! Last night she said as she went to sleep “I was so excited when Aarti won! It just brought tears to my eyes!” As the mom of 2 Indian daughters I am thrilled that you will have a show, as I love to cook Indian food and desire my girls to do so, too – I am sure we will learn so much from you! Nina wants to leave a note:

“I am going to get a t-shirt and write “I love Aarti!” on it, and make my own cooking show on my digital camera. I am so excited that you winned and am excited to see your new show!”

I think if you ever need a mini-guest on the show I have one for you right here :) .
Praying many blessings for you in this new adventure in your life! The Lord is good!

  242. Nichole

Congratulations!! I’m so happy for you, and I can’t wait to watch your show! Will this have any ramifications for aartipaarti.com? :D

  243. Georgia @ The Comfort of Cooking

Aarti, I am SO happy for you and can’t wait to see what you bring to the Food Network kitchen. You should be so proud of all your hard work and determination in getting to this point – I can’t wait to see your show, learn lots of new things about Indian cooking from you, and to try your lovely recipes. From a fellow SoCal food blogger, congratulations to you, Aarti! You deserve all the success in the world!

  244. Karen

    Hello, Aarti!

BRAVA!! I was delighted to see someone with expertise in Indian food in the running for the next Food Network Star. I’m a huge fan of Food Network, but my one lament is that there’s no Indian food – or very, very little – featured on the shows. Aarti to the rescue!

I adore Indian food and have been learning to cook an ever-growing variety of dishes. I’m hoping to learn more from your new show!

Congratulations and the very best of luck to you!!

  245. Amrita

Enjoyed watching you and have been rooting for you since the first episode! Congrats!! Looking forward to watching your show!

  246. Angie

Congratulations! I am SOOO THRILLED! I’ve been following you since the season started and routing for you along every episode! You have amazing talent – I cannot wait to watch your show! Best of luck!

  247. Sudha

Congrats Aarthi. Can’t wait to see your show.

  248. Susie

Soooo happy for you—actually screamed when you won–Kinda startled my fur babies. LOL
I find you so endearing on camera including your love and references about your mum, her cooking and recipes. If anyone says a word about it just know that there wasn’t a day that went by that Emeril Lagasse didn’t mention his Portuguese mom Hilda…….. or her recipes or her famous “pementum moida”.

I know the show is showing how to incorporate Indian ingredients in a non-intimidating way, but I hope you will incorporate some middle-eastern style as well. Would love to see some Persian, Lebanese and other regional influences you may have picked up in Dubai……..or is that a future series for you ;)

I hope you will be able to continue this blog or at least leave it up as I find it wondrous…….
Will be watching Sunday noon and have my Tivo set as well.
I’ll be buying the food network magazine that highlights you for the first time as well.
    All the best!

  249. Annie Berrol

Congratulations, Aarti! My boyfriend loved the red dress in which you appeared in the finale. (I mean, he wants me to wear one like it–not that he’d want it for himself). Can you tell me where I could get one like it? You looked fabulous!

  250. Sol

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you I even cried when you won, then again I’m pregnant so I think hormones had something to do with it. Wish you all the best and I’m looking forward to watching your show on the food network!!

    Nilsa

  270. Catherine Cincilla

My Mom and I watched Next Food Network Star from the very beginning, and you were always my favorite. I saw your potential from the start, and I knew you would win! It was so rewarding to watch you build your confidence and achieve your dream.

I’ve suffered from pretty severe anxiety my whole life, and while I’ve been doing extremely well at handling it for over a year now, seeing you win made me realize that I can reach my dream, too. :)

Congrats and best of luck! I can’t wait to watch your show!

  271. Dena C.

I am so thrilled for your big win. My 9 yr old daughter and I held our breath the entire show, screamed and scared our dog half to death when your name was called and cried tears of happiness for you.
So excited to watch your new show!!!!

  272. Lisa

Aarti – I was pulling for your from the first episode. I am SO thrilled! Your vision for a show was so different from what has been on the network in the past. It will be a refreshing change. PLEASE don’t be deterred by those who are crying foul, saying you don’t deserve it and saying the contest was fixed. You know how hard you worked. Monkeys can be darn cute, but they are best left to the jungles and not on your back! ;0)

  273. Amy

    Aarti,

I know you’ve heard this a lot, but congratulations!! I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to watch your show! My husband is a meat eater and I am not, so I love that I can make a lot of your dishes both ways! I can’t wait to try out more of your recipes…I was wondering, though, if you would be kind enough to introduce some vegetarian dishes!

  274. Meredith

I’m so excited you’ll be on TV this Sunday. I can’t wait to watch!

  275. ribz

    YAAAAAY AARTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though I cook indian food almost everyday, I am very excited to see the ideas you have about Indian inspired food :)

  278. Teri Miller

Good Luck Aarti! Love the Miller Family in Hawthorn, Nevada

  279. Mimi

Congratulations. We watched the episode last night and I was as nervous as you looked! I thought they could have done a better job on your pilot (the scenes they showed of you filming it looked so much better than what ended up in the pilot) and the guys pilots were good so if they had judged off of the pilot and the audience it would have been way too close to call. Luckily they looked at everyone’s performance overall and you kicked butt overall. I am so happy for you and I can’t wait to watch your show!

  280. Jen

Aarti, congratulations! I can’t wait to watch your new show, and you’ve inspired me to try my hand at some Indian cooking!

  281. Lisa

Congratulations! We are SO happy for you!!! I can’t wait to watch your show and make some Indian food!

  285. joy

Congratulations! I didn’t start watching the show until halfway through, but you were my favorite immediately. I’ve never had Indian food, but you make me want to try it! And I was excited to see this morning on Facebook that you are a fellow NU alum! Big blessings to you and have fun! You are gorgeous, funny, and you deserve it! I want to be in your book club!

    Hi Aarti,

We are a chef booking agency.. located in Toronto and NYC….can you or someone from your office give us a call, asap? I may have a booking for you, depending on your interest and timing – our national client specifically requested a female chef….Thanks. Much appreciated.

I’m also going to be in NYC Aug 22-25 – if you would like to discuss further but would rather a chat over the phone to get the conversation started.

Aarti I’m so happy you won! I’ve been rooting for you the whole time. The Food Network has a serious lack of Asian cuisine and I’m really excited to see your show and try making your food!! I loved it when you said ““I feel like when God made me, he was like *dink* cooking show host.” HA, spot on!!

Hi Aarti – Congratulations! You were head-and-shoulders above the others this season. I’m so glad you were chosen, although the decision couldn’t have been too difficult for the judges. Congrats girl!!! May you be blessed by the Lord in everything you do and make.:) I’m a South Indian girl married to an American guy and could just relate to you in so many ways. I have so many ideas for you too. I’m sure you’ve thought of them but just in case, you should do a dosa (or crepe), and a show on how to use a pressure cooker(a time saver in the kitchen), my husband loves BBQ ( an Indian spiced BBQ sauce on a some beef ribs ..yum). You also have to put up your iron chef reciepes, they all looked so yummy and the comments from the chefs were incredible. You rock!! Waiting to see your show in Atlanta,GA!

    Arti!

Congratulations and blessings. My husband, Steve and I picked you as the “must be winner” from the very beginning. I have been to India over 30 times (business+pleasure) and your joy for life, love of food & God was evident all the time. We arre simply thrilled you will be able to introduce the “heavenenly flavours” of India (especially Kerela) to Americans, well everyone.

Most do not even understand the exciting cuisine of India-so much more than tandoori, “curry” (hey what’s that about) and nan. I really look forward to your teaching folks about masalas, such as karela, maybe even Awadhi cuisine as well as lovely South Indian coconut milk rich fish or shrimp masala, oh and appam,s and dosa, idli and Sambhar for the best ever breakfast…..YES!

We can’t wait to continue cheering you on!

  347. Shubha

Congratulations!!! Aarti…I am big fan of yours…I can’t wait to watch you regularly on food network…good luck :) .

  348. Adelina

Oh… also you should change your BIG NEWS side bar to say “I am the Next Food Network Star!” :)

  349. kimberly michelle

I jumped up and down when I saw the unveiling of the photo! I cannot WAIT for you to teach me how to make more Indian food in my kitchen!!!!! EIK!!!!!!!

  350. Armita

  351. Renee

I cannot wait to record every episode and try EVERY recipe to get over my intimidation and fear of Indian cuisine! Congratulations!

  352. Sarah

Congratulations Aarti!! We knew you would win. Your pilot is amazing and I am so excited to see your show. I really want to make that naan pizza this week. My kids will love it!

  353. Kiran

Congratulations Aarti! I am 13 years old and have been watching Food Network ever since I was 8 years old. I introduced it to my parents and we have been watching all the time. We were really hoping for an Indian person to show up on Food Network and our wish came true! I have really been hoping for you to win and you did! I can’t wait to watch your show and learn more about cooking Indian food! Though I am Indian myself, we still are so exited for your show to come out! Congratulations and we know you will be great!!!!!!

  354. Kerry - Kid Giddy

  355. Vasanti

Right from the beginning, I was rooting for you and I’m so glad you are the one! Foodnetwork lacked Indian-inspired shows and I’m sure you’ll do full justice. Bring it on girl!

Good luck and look forward to your new show :)

    xoxo

  356. Geeta

Congratulations Aarti! My 5 year old son, Aayush, has been watching you since day one on the show and he ADORES you. 358. Ann-Marie J

Hi Aarti…Congratulations! I’m am estatic that you won…I can barely imagine how you must feel :) this is certainly a blessing only God can make a way for…continue to draw on His strength and depend on His Grace every step of this wonderful journey.
I live in the Caribbean and have a great apprecation for ‘tasty’ food that goes beyond salt and pepper…food that appeals to all your senses, so I am really happy that you can bring that new paradigm to FN. It’s never an easy task when you are a pioneer and have to introduce things that are different to the norm, but I am confident you have it in you. Believe in yourself and what God has put in you…
I love food…I love cooking and trying new recipes. I watch FN all the time that it sometimes drives my husband crazy :) nonetheless he also became an “Aarti Fan” over the last 9 weeks… now we are looking forward to your show!

I would love to continue keeping in touch if you can. You don’t know us but we feel connected and will continue to support you and wish you good success. Drop a line if you can. God Bless!

  359. Monica

I knew you could do it! You were my favorite from day one. You make me want to drive the 1.5 hours to the nearest ethnic grocery store to buy the ingredients to make your food! I can’t wait to see your show!

  360. Kristin

Congratulations!! Although the other candidates were fun to watch and are probably very nice people too, you deserve the title 100% – you are such a natural in the kitchen and a pleasure to watch! My whole family rooted you on every Sunday night for weeks in our living room (our son even stayed up past his bedtime to make sure you weren’t eliminated!). We’re looking forward to beginning our collection of our favorite recipes/creations we’ll be graced with from your new show! Great job!

  361. Sands

Aarti, congratulations girl! My husband and I have been watching the show from day one and we had you pegged from the beginning. 372. Amy

Congratulations Aarti! My daughters and I are big Next Food Network Star fans, and we have been cheering for you since episode 1. And since it’s on past their bedtime, I have to DVR it and watch the next night, so I had to hide myself from any news of who won all day. :) We are so excited to watch your show next weekend!

  373. Steve & Kristen

Aarti, we are so happy for you and think you are fantastic!! Looking forward very much to your new show. Congratulations on a well deserved win. The 3 finalists were all good, but you were definitely the right choice.
All the best, Steve & Kristen

  374. Rick Ruff

Aarti, I’m a huge fan. Always pulled for you. By the way, I spent 6 yrs in Abu Dhabi from 1998-2004, when I returned to Texas to care for an ageing father. I taught English to Emirati military. I am curious. You are (obviously) Christian and your name is Portuguese in origin. I’m guessing you are from Goa. Yes?

  375. Kara

Way to go, Aarti! Keep spreading your light around for all to see! Love, Kara

  376. Christie

Texas loves you Aarti!. Can’t wait for next week to start hanging with you and learning how to cook Indian food. I have never eaten Indian cuisine, but you and your recipes make my mouth water. Cheers to Aarti and many, many, many episodes of Aarti’s Party!!!!!!

  377. Christy

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I totally let out a SCREAM when your picture appeared. Probably scared a newly arrived visitor napping in our guest room. :) I’m about to go make some chutney to celebrate! It’s my first try at it, so BIG THANKS for the inspiration last night. I didn’t know how to make it before. Having a rather Indian-inspired dinner tonight to celebrate (curry lentil soup, naan, chutney…).
I hope you’ll still be updating your blog! I just discovered it and was REALLY encouraged by a lot of the spiritual things you had to say. You’ll never know how much it encouraged me when, at the end of the episode, you said to keeping holding on. It really means a lot to me, especially at this time.
I hope you enjoy this new adventure in your life and live it to the fullest, resting always in the Father’s embrace. Best to you and your family. Cheers!
ps I love your blog header!

  378. Bradley

Aarti! I am sooo pleased for you!

It was lovely to watch you grow throughout the competition. I love food, and badly want to be a good cook. But cooking is frequently intimidating. You are so relatable and make cooking seem so accessible, I look forward to starting my cooking adventures with you. I’ve only recently discovered your blog, but can’t wait to start infusing Indian flavor into my everyday cuisine! You will be a great asset to the Food Network!

  379. Hope

Congratulations, Aarti! I am soooo happy you won last night!! Can’t wait to see your first episode next Sunday! :)

  380. Rani

Yippeee!!!! We all watched you win! Way past little kids bedtimes and all!

  382. Lindsay

Congratulations Aarti! From the very first episode I loved your bubbly personality and unique cooking skills. I literally said “woohoo!” very loudly and mistakenly woke my brother up. oops! :P

You’re the best and I can’t wait to watch your show!

  383. Diane

Congratulations Aarti! I have been rooting for you all along and with Gods grace and all your hard work you absolutely deserved to win.It was quite a nail biting moment at the very end with all 3 pilots being almost equally good.Looking forward to seeing your show on Food Network

  384. Jamie

It was a nail biter last night. I’m so glad you won. I was rooting for you the whole time. Can’t wait to see your show this weekend. Best of luck to you.

  385. Rebecca27

Aarti – I am so THRILLED that you won!!!!!!! I’ve been rooting for you all season. I love your enthusiasm and warmth. I especially appreciate that you continue to stay true to yourself and your faith! My only disappointment is that the time slot for your show is on Sunday morning at 11c while I’m in church. I don’t have a DVR! Any idea if your show will appear online anywhere???

  386. Sukanya

Aarti congratulations on your big win! I was pulling for you from day 1!

  391. Jacob

My wife and I have been watching the Next Food Network Star all season and you were our favorite from very early on. We actually cheered when they revealed your portrait. Then we felt bad for the other two because we genuinely liked them too. We look forward to trying some of your recipes coming up.

  392. Robin

I am absolutely delighted for you. My entire family was sitting in front of the TV waiting for them to announce you as the winner We were not surprised and we can hardly wait to try cooking food with an Indian influence. It will be a new experience and I can hardly wait. Congratulations!

  398. Jon

Good Job .. Please Bring Tom “Big Chef” on as a guest star sometime please : )

  399. mel

    Aarti,
I knew from the first episode you would win. FN needs you! You were the only one with a truly different idea.
I liked Tom and I liked Herb, and I liked Brad, but like many others I loved you. You were like a best friend I could invite right into my home.
I can not wait for your show to air!
I do hope you keep up the blog now that I have found it and you are famous and all that!
Hugs and may God’s blessings shower over you!

Congratulations Aarti! I am so happy for you. I am really excited we’ll have Indian flavors on the food network now…woo hoo!

  404. Lynn

I am so happy that you won last night. I’ve pegged the winners of the show early on for the last two seasons so I suspected all along that it would be you. The Food Network needs a great Indian show. My husband has been on the Gulf Coast working on oil spill clean-up since early June and will be home for dinner tomorrow night for the first night in 10 weeks. I am making your green chicken curry. If I am feeling energetic, I’ll make your baked samosas too!

  405. Taryn

I am so excited that you won!! You have been my favorite since the beginning! I already have my timer on my DVR set to tape your show. Congratulations!

  406. Queen of Quirky

Nothing but big, big things for you in the future, my dear. So excited for you. Will be sure to be cooking recipes from your new show in the future. (And of course, blogging them!)

Congrats! My wife and I have been rooting for you from day 1 — can’t wait to see the new show!

  412. Vince

Yay! Discovered you on the Next Food Network Star. You were my favorite. Loved the Big Chef and Herb (damn he’s hot) too. Best season ever. Tough competition, but loved my Aarti. Bring it on baby. Looking forward to your show.

  413. Taryn

Congrats Aarti! You were my favorite from the beginning of TNFNS! Can’t wait to see your cooking show next week :)

  414. fooddon

    Wow – what a disappointment
While Aarti is very cute and somewhat entertaining, the chance of survival is slim, and I doubt many will tune in for an Indian infusion. Tom and Herb had such better performances and would have createing such a huge opportunity for the Food Network……..What were they thinking?

  415. Debbie

Congrats to you! I was a fan from the very beginning and remained one throughout the show. My daughters were always running around the house saying “Aarti Paarti”…you’ll do great on your new show and we can’t wait to watch!

  416. leo

    congratulations , aarti
I have been watched the last 3 “the next foodnetwork star” and so far you are my favorite. As a Taiwanese, I came to united states alone to study animation and I have survived for 10 years. My cooking skill helps me to make a lot friends here. When you were talking about how much you want to bring your parents here and look after them, I can totally relate to it.
Your winning encourages a lot people (like me) ,especially for immigrant women. I cant wait to see your warm smiles and lovely indian dishes on TV!

  417. Diane Brooks

Hi Aarti, how wonderful it is that you are The Next Food Network Star. Your warmth and genuine personality come through so clearly. I am a wanna be chef, but have been a little afraid of Indian food. I am eager to try some of your recipes to see if they might be a fit for me and for my family.

It is a refreshing change to see someone who knows Christ be given such a visible platform on TV. Woot!

  418. Susan

Congratulations and yeahhhhhhh God! We can’t wait to see your new show!! Please teach this Indian girl something her parents never could! :)

  419. Ana :)

I knew it!!! All the way from the beginning! cant wait to see the show! When does it air???

  420. Tricia

Congratulaions!!! My son and I watched every episode. He’s seven and had you picked to win from day one. We are in New Orleans and love food with different flavors. We just started trying some Indian dishes and can’t wait to try more from your show. We already have the Tivo set! =)

  421. Sarah

Congratulations! You deserve it! Can’t wait to watch you and start adding the Indian spices to my food!

  422. Sandy Cunningham

My daughters, niece, and I have been cheering for you and are so glad you won. We love your smile, your personality and your food. We can’t wait to make your recipes. Indian food is the best! Go Aarti!

  426. Kristy

Congrats Aarti! My husband and I were rooting for you the whole way. We love Indian food and I now have hope that there are ways to learn how to make it at home and not worry that I am embarrassing real Indian cooks.

  427. Kari

    Aarti,
Congratulations! We DVR the show so we just finished watching it. I can’t wait to watch your show. I really wanted all three of you to have a show, but really felt you had the best concept. I’ve already got next week’s episode set to record. I love Indian food, but like you mentioned on the show, it can be intimidating.

    Good luck with it all!

    In Him,

    Kari

  428. Arjun

Congrats Aarti! My family and I are looking forward to your watching your show and getting neat ideas about what to try next. We’re both pizza lovers and makers and really dig your idea about using Naan as a base! Cheers!

  429. Heidi's Recipes

Aarti, I can’t wait to see “Aarti Party”! I loved you from the start and am so happy to see a blogger win! All roads lead to this!

  430. Christie {Honoring Health}

I haven’t seen the episode because I am out of town but saw the news on twitter this morning. I am so happy for you, I was cheering for you from the moment I heard “food blogger” in the very beginning! Can’t wait to watch your show and learn how to cook indian food!

  431. Andrea

Oh my goodness…I am so excited for you. I feel like you are one of my girlfriends and I am just giddy :)

  432. Charlotte

Yay! Congratulations! I hope the person that took the camera realizes now who they were taking it from! I am so happy for you! You deserve it!

  433. Jen

Seriously – madly in love with you, sister, and have been since I saw your smile the very first day of the show. I’m SOOOO glad you will be gracing us over the air on a regular basis. You are incredible and beautiful and talented and so very deserving. I am totally DVR’ing. Yay, you!

    xOxO ~ jen

  434. GK

  436. SJBill

Our family was rooting for you all the way. Congratulations!
I hear you might be a bit gluten intolerant. We four have the same, so let’s see your stuff!

    Standing by to learn!

  437. Skye

We knew you could do it! I had Chicken TIkka Masala for dinner expecting your win!

  438. Andrew Hime

Can’t wait to see the show… although I think they should have let you AND Tom win.

  439. Val

Congratulations! How incredibly life changing. Good luck and have fun!

  440. Jean Has Been Shopping

Congratulations! Cannot wait to watch your show!

  441. Brittni

Congratulations Aarti!!! Like others on here I’ve wanted you to win from the very beginning. You’re just such a sweet person it’s impossible not to love you. Plus, no offense to the other contestants, of whom there were several other very lovable personalities, but Food Network has far too many healthy shows and home cooking shows and italian cooking shows and all that. We need more indian cooking in America– it’s just so good– and there’s not much out there right now on indian cooking. This is the first time on Next Food Network Star I wanted someone to win not only because I love them as a person, but because I desperately wanted to watch their show. I just wanted to let you know I’ve been rooting for you and I jumped up and did a little dance around my kitchen when you won. I can’t wait to see the show!!!!!

  442. Kristin

Congratulations, Aarti! I was thrilled but not at all surprised to see you win. I am looking forward to watching your show. Your culinary point of view is very intriguing, and I’m going to enjoy getting familiar with Indian flavors through your guidance.

  443. reddyforAarti!

Hey Aarti!!! Congratulations dear! I know you have a ton of fans, but know that there will be those that try to bring you down, as I am reading on FB and FN postings. Don’t let them get you down….EVER. Be true to yourself and don’t worry about their chatter. You are obviously amazingly talented and you have a ton of support!! You can obviously listen to the critics to learn to better yourself, but these people are haters…don’t let them in your head girly! We love you and can’t wait for your show!!!!!! Congrats again!!!!

  444. Amanda

OMG so happy for you! Can’t wait to watch your show! :D

  445. Evan

Aarti, I new you would win it all. Now I am expectin great things from you (my grandparents are all Indian, and both my parents were born in England as immigrants, then came to the states. Now my mom’s Indian cooking isn’t the best, hoping you can make her food taste better!) Congrats! Can’t wait to watch Aarti Paarti! I think your show is going to be the best NFNS show yet!

  446. Kimberly

So excited for you, Aarti – rooted for you from episode 1! You have the right stuff, girl! Good luck!

    xoxo

  447. Mackenzie

Congratulations! This is so exciting! I am really looking forward to watching your first show this weekend. I loved the pizza you made and appreciate all of the education. I really don’t know a lot about Indian flavors and spices, and you make it all seem so easy! Let me know if you have a cookie recipe I should try! Best wishes!

  448. tina

    Hi Aarti!

Congratulations!!! I’m so happy that you won :D
We’ve been rooting for you from the beginning, and so encouraged that you’re sharing about God and what He’s done, on TV! :D I hope that God continues to use this wonderful opportunity to show you his creative goodness and open more doors!

  449. rookie cookie

I am so glad it was you. Out of you, Herb and Tom, it was your recipes that I am far more interested in. I can’t wait to see what your show brings. Good luck!

  450. Neha

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!

  451. Shobha

    You Rock Girl!
On my Facebook I had this title “Aarti all the way! ” As the episodes went by, my friends too commented ” Aarti all the way!” :) I see it has been an amazing journey for you. You deserve it. Enjoy every moment and I hope you have a very blessed successful fun carrier. Can’t wait to see you on your own show. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! Your own show :) )

  452. Ally

  457. Mark

Aarti, I’m so happy. You’re not only my favorite person on The Next Food Network Star, but you’re my second favorite in the history of the channel after Alton Brown. I knew after the second episode that you were going to win, but I was still sick with dread during the finale. Congrats!

Rock on, sister! Before you even won, you inspired me to become a food blogger – I’ve started this project and cannot wait to take the conceptualization (which has been on my mind for quite some time now) and make it reality. I really have you to thank for that! Now, I am sooo looking forward to seeing your bright, happy face on Food Network every week. And I’ll put it into perspective here – I am NOT a morning person by any means, much less on weekends (ask my friends, they’ll tell you!), but I am very excited to set my alarm for 10:50am every Sunday so I can wake up to your culinary goodness.

So a big warm congratulations to ya from Austin, and may God continue to bring His blessings to you and yours :-)

  461. Kate

Congrats Aarti! My boyfriend and I have been watching every week and we both loved you the whole way through and were rooting for you to win :) The DVR is all set up and ready to go on Sunday- can’t wait to see your new show and start introducing your dishes into our dinner line up! :)

  462. Yuliana Alli

Having trouble leaving a message for you on youtube, none the less….. CONGRATS !! Well earned and well deserved. I can’t waite to watch your show. And I’ve got a recipe to cure those ocra blues for you. Take care. God Bless.

  465. Sarah

HOLY CRAP. You do not understand how happy I am that you won. Well you’re probably happier…but still….I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. You are an amazing person and an incredible chef and you are absolutely beautiful. You’re such an inspiration to so many people and its so surreal to finally see Indian cuisine being given the props it deserves. You really deserve all the blessings that you have been showered upon you and its people like you that make tv worth watching. OKAY IM DONE bye yyayayayayaya AARTTIII WOOHOOOOOO

  466. Alissa

Congratulations Aarti!! I am really looking forward to being a loyal follower of your show. I can’t imagine this happening to a more genuine person!! Thanks for letting the Light and Joy shine out of you!!

  467. Karla

We are SO happy that it was YOU!!! :) CONGRATULATIONS!! We absolutely cannot wait to see your show! My husband and I have said from the beginning “Yes – A show about cooking Indian food – it is exactly what TFN needs!” We would love to be able to cook Indian food in our own kitchen and so look forward to watching you teach us how to do just that! We’re so excited for you – and for us, since we will be the ones reaping the benefits!! Congrats!!

    ~Karla

  468. crissy mathers

yay! i called it from the first episode! i knew your warmth, charm and over all sparkly personality would make you the winner! congrats and cheers!

  469. rani

Congrats! You deserve this!!!! Have fun with the new journey! Looking forward to learning from you show and maybe a book or two!!!!! Congrats!!!

  470. sue

thanks for teaching me how to make chutney last night, didn’t realize all i needed to do was add some vinegar to my cooked down fruit concoctions and i’d have chutney! the apricots needed to be dealt with and this was the perfect thing to do with them. thanks again!

  471. corinna

Congrats! Clearly the best woman won. Looking forward to seeing your show.

  472. Shellbeelou

Yay! Aarti, I knew it was gonna be you. You’re Awesome!

  473. Debbie

I, too, was so excited about your win. While I did like Herb and Tom, I felt as if I connected with you – your sweet smile radiated through the television! Reading your blog has made the connection all the stronger. Thank you for opening up your heart to us.

I truly believe that, in this new sphere of influence, your sweet Father will use you mightily in ways none of us could ever comprehend.

Can’t wait to try more of your recipes!

  474. Carol

My husband and I were hoping and praying that you would win. You are fabulous, and we can’t wait to Tivo your show. Good luck – I know you will do wonderfully on the Food Network. God Bless!

  475. Tara Fioriello

Aarti I am SO happy you won next food network star! I’ve been watching you from the very beginning and from the very first episode you were my favorite – I’ve been rooting for you ever since. And as silly as it may sound, but I was actually nervous watching the finale – because as much as I love the personalities of Herb & Tom, I really, really wanted you to win! And luckily my wishes came true – I had my fingers crossed for you, sister! A random comment here, but I love how you arent afraid to say how much you love God & what an inspiration he is to you – I think that’s really great & admirable. Congrats on everything you’ve accomplished so far, and I cannot wait to watch your show! Much love!<3 xoxo

  476. HUGE FAN!

AARTI, Congrats!! While some may argue that the results were predictable because we don’t need more hispanic or american food on the Food Network .. the truth is, you can cook and you have the personality that we the viewers want to see. Cooking Indian food (which is huge!) is a wonderful plus and I can’t wait to start watching you demystify it. Hopefully you will fair a little bit better than last year’s winner… don’t really see her on TV during normal hours… :( CONGRATS!

  477. Joel

    Aarti–

A hearty congratulations from Vermont! My wife, 14yo son, and I have been rooting for you since early on the the NFS competition, and we were so happy and excited to see you chosen!

You were the most consistent, you absolutely shine on TV (you do know that, right?), and your cuisine is so inventive. Way to knock those Iron Chefs dead!

We look very forward to watching your show and making many of your dishes! Go girl!

  478. Lali

Congratulations, Aarti! Though there were a lot of people I liked this round, you were my favorite from the start! Your smile, your charm and your warmth pulled me in from the first show. I can’t wait to watch your show and start cooking up some Indian-inspired food for my husband and I. Best of luck to you in your new career! :)

  479. Swapan

Great win Aarti! Congratulations! You deserved it! Herb talks well before the camera but can he cook and make the viewers cook? His last presentation was his best but was not consistent. Tom is a risk taker and a good cook. He never shined other than in the emotion (Jealousy) round. I like him because he experiments… but Aarti, you were a bit more professional and consistent and deserved to win. A chef on TV should motivate dummies to try it out in the kitchen… and you do. You inspire people to try it out.

  480. Thyra like tiramisu

Aarti!! My boyfriend & I absolutely love you & we’ve been rooting for you since the beginning!! Congratulations & I can’t wait to tune in to your show!!

  481. Lynnie

Aarti- Congrats! Just wanted to tell you that Food Network is blessed to have someone like you. Never believe the naysayers girl, because you have a God given talent for food and for teaching people.

That said, I’m really hoping once I move to Oregon next month that I might be able to find some of the spices you use, because up here in Northern Minnesota most people think ketchup is spicy.. *sigh*

  482. Parul

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
CaN’T wait for your show to start airing.
    Mwaa mwaa

  483. Jon

Aarti! I wanted you to win so badly! Congratulations! You earned it. I hope to meet you one day(:

  484. Vanessa

Aarti! Congratulations! My daughters and I loved you so much on The Next Food Network Star, and knew you’d win from the beginning. You are so bright and beautiful! We can’t wait to watch your new show :)

  485. Miri

Wooohoooo indeed! So thrilled for you and for us too! Looking forward to tuning into your new show. You’re going to rock it girl!

And if you get bored, we’ll be waiting for you here in sunny Puerto Rico! :-)

    Miri

  486. Eileen

Congratulations Aarti! It must be like walking in a dream now that you have won what you set your heart out for. I hope I can catch your show and I can see past my fears for trying Indian food. My heart and taste buds say “Go for it!” my acid-reflux says “Put the curry down and back away!”

  487. Rachel

    Hi, Aarti,

Congratulations on winning and becoming the Next Food Network Star. I was watching one of your videos where you mentioned you are allergic to gluten. I recommend “Cooking with gluten free Coconut Flour” by Bruce Fife, C.N., N.D. All his other books are great too. Such as “The Coconut Oil Miracle” and “The Palm Oil Miracle”. I look forward to seeing your new show!

  488. Megha

Congratulations, Aarti! I’m so excited to watch your show. You totally deserved the win!

  489. Michelle

How wonderful! My two kiddos and I were cheering when the photo was unveiled. : )

  490. Caleb Klein

    Aarti,

I am sooooooo excited that you won. Ever since the first episode, I’ve been waiting for you to win. You’re a breath of fresh air with your whimsical personality and culinary skills! I am very excited for your show and wish you all the luck in the world!

P.S. If you ever get the chance to do an episode where you have a viewer on to cook with you, I’d LOVE to join in making some amazing food with an Indian flair!

    Caleb

  491. Colin

My mom has been making Indian food for years, so we were absolutely ecstatic that you were victorious! Your show is going to take our family dinners to new heights. But may I suggest you make a desert on the show such as mango lassi or Indian rice pudding?

    We’ll be watching!

  492. Dianne

You go, girl! So glad for your win. I loved all 3 finalists, and really appreciated the good spirit amongst the 3 of you. But you were my choice from the beginning. Looking forward to learning about Indian food, something I’ve always wanted to try but too chicken! Just remember where your strength and confidence lie, and that there is always room to grow – know you will!

  493. Kristin J

Aarti, you rock! I am so happy for you! You definitely deserved to win! I agree with the other posts… this is really the first time I have desperately wanted someone to win the NFNS. So stoked to watch your show and cook your delicious food. You are an inspiration to all.
And, I hope you will keep blogging because I love this site! Woot!

  494. Kevin

Aarti, my whole family was behind you – you have such a sweet spirit! We couldn’t help noticing that you were always the first there with a hug and encouragement for others when they had a bad day. We will be watching every episode of Aarti Party!

And to Fooddon: You are entitled to your opinion, but why come to her website to post that? It just seems mean-spirited. And do you really think there is no interest in Indian food? So little imagination…

  495. aarti fan!

Yayyyyy Arti!!!!! You were also my favorite from day one.Not only are you totally adorable, but I happen to love indian cuisine!!! So please, teach us! teach us!!! Mmmmm! Can’t wait for your show!

  496. Angie @ The Country Chic Cottage

  497. A Tuscan Foodie in America

A big WELL DONE to you! Well deserved! Looking forward to watching your show!

  498. Robin

Aarti, I was thrilled that you won and am so looking forward to your show — DVRed already since it’s on at the same time as church! : ) Don’t pay attention to those who will try to bring you down — they really don’t matter in the larger scheme of things (for example, some people like Pepsi, others know Coke is the only way to go LOL). Stay strong and don’t doubt in the dark what the Lord has shown you in the light!

  499. Betsy

YOU ROCK!!! Congratulations, Aarti! I can’t wait to see your show. Don’t forget to keep sharing those gluten free hints for your recipes! (Love the glutino pretzel idea in the crab cakes!)

  500. Trina

Congratulations, Aarti!! This could not have happened to a nicer person! Wooohooo!

  501. Nette

YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See, I knew you would win! The Lord blesses those who serve him. Never forget how awesome you are to Him… and to us (the fans!) I can’t wait to see the show!!!!!!!!!!!

I SO want that recipe you did for the pizza! It looked nummy!

  502. May

  503. dragonfly willow

Yay!! I can’t wait to see your show. I have followed your blog and it is soooo cool that you are going to get a show!! We are having an Aarti Paarti this weekend to celebrate, plus we love Indian food and you make it easy to prep at home. Do you have a favorite Chai Tea recipe you could recommend?

  504. Heather

I ADORE you, Aarti! I’m so glad you won and I’ll definitely be watching your new show!

  505. Aditi

    Hi Aarti,

Congratulations!!! :-) We were very happy that you won. We follow Food Network Star & were really excited that you were in Top 3 and really really hoped that you would win! Best wishes for your new show. We will watch it regularly! Good to see Indian food getting recognition on Food Network. :-)

I couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the night!!!
Can’t wait till your show comes on!!!!!:):):)

  507. Suzan

I can’t wait to watch your show! You made me try Indian food and I am in love for life! Why haven’t I tried it sooner? It is so amazingly flavorful and you were right, it made my house smell like heaven! My husband, 4 kids and I were so excited when you won! I am so thankful! God is good! All of the time!

Your win is so AWESOME! I knew it was going to be you — I mean seriously, who else could they select?!?!? Looking forward to seeing your show! :0)

  511. Tamara

Congratulations Aarti! My daughter Hayley and I have been fans since the beginning! You have been a HUGE inspiration for Hayley, she is 17 and has wanted to become a chef since the age of 6! After watching the final episode she turned to me and told me she will be there one day and you have really inspired her to stay confident and stay true to her goal.

We can’t wait for your show and look forward to the Indian infused meals we will serve from our kitchen!

  512. Swapna

This is just AWESOME. Very excited to have an Indian cooking show on Food Network. You deserve it. Congratulations :)

  513. Molly

    Congratulations!

  514. Patrick

YEEEESSS!!!! Congrats Aarti!!! You’re just what FN needs. I have to admit that most years I don’t have a favorite for TNFNS, but this year I wanted you to win from the start! It’s nice to see that the judges picked the true winner otherwise there would’ve been some problems. ha ha

  515. Kelley Shaw

I love Indian culture (I do yoga and meditation) and have become addicted to Indian food! I have just begun to cook it at home and I am sooo very happy that The Food Network chose you as the winner. You are very engaging and make the recipes accessible to anyone. I will be watching your show every week!

  516. Ali

    Aarti,
I know this may sound so simliar to what you have read earlier but since Day 1, I have been rooting for you! When I read you were a food blogger, I immediatley looked you up and my family and I have been watching the show and following your blog religiously. When your picture was revealed, my sister, mother and I screamed so loud, my dad in the other room had to run in and ask what was wrong. When we told him, “AARTI WON! AARTI PAARTI WON!!!”, he responded with a loud “ALL RIGHT!” We are counting down the days to see a full episode of AartiPaarti! We can’t wait! Congratulations and have fun!

  517. Donna

I was so happy you won. From the first show that aired, it was you I wanted to win. So congratulations and may you have many happy years with the Food Network.

  518. Dee

the question was . . . what woman would you most like to have dinner with??
    here’s my answer . . .
    ooh i can’t decide!!
Joyce Meyer, Beth Moore, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, Queen Esther, Aarti Paarti, and all my friends!! there are just waaay too many amazing women!!

  519. Anitha

    Hi Aarti,

Congrats for winning the Next Food Network Star Challenge :) .
Hope you win lots more in the future. In one of the episodes, you made green chicken curry. I would really love to have a recipe for me. I wanna surprise my husband, coz that happens to be his favorite. Please post the recipe, whenever you are free.

Good luck again and keep winning :) Waiting for your show :)

  520. Janine

Aarti we were your fans from the beginning. It was so obvious you were the most warm, natural and unique personality in the competition. FN doesn’t have anyone like you, and they needed you! I kept say, Aarti’s is the only show I’d actually make a point to watch. Yipee! Congrats!

  521. Ixta

Congratulations Aarti! You were my favorite person this season from the very first episode, so I was really psyched to see you win. My friends and I are really hoping to learn a lot from you. We think it’s great the food network is adding some diversity, and we’re looking forward to trying your flavors, especially after seeing how well you did in the iron chef battle.

  522. Snehal

    Hi Aarti,

CONGRATULATIONS on winning the NFNS!!! I was cheering for you from the very first episode. I am sooo happy for you! About time FN has some representation from India. Can not wait for your show. Wish you all the best.

  523. Lisa G

    Aarti,
When I began watching The Next Food Network Star, I noticed you immediately. I found you to have such warm, radiant and compassionate eyes and an apparent passion for what you do. Friends and I went back and forth as to who we thought would win, and several of us, myself included chose you from the get go. I thought the entire season of the show was filled with excitement and adventure and absolutely enjoyed. CONGRATS to you for all your hard work! I truly appreciate your passion for wanting to give all of us a little taste of your culture and wish you much success on your show. I look forward to watching and learning mmore from you!!!

  524. Kari

Aarti! You are too sweet! I am so glad you won! I can’t wait to try adding some Indian flair to my meals! :) I am learning to cook (I am 20 years old) and Indian food sure does seem intimidating, but you really do make it seem easy! :)

I love your blog and the name of your show is so perfect. Congrats and I know you will do well. Oh, and keep proclaiming the Good News to the world! =D I could tell you were “different” on the show… When I found your blog, it confirmed what I knew all along, that you were a believer. :)

    Anyway, have a great time!!

    -Kari

  525. Holly

Aarti! congrats on the big win! we were rooting for you and can’t wait to watch your show! You’ve got us totally turned on to indian food–so much so that we talked one our our indian friends and her hubby into coming over and cooking an indian meal at our house and teaching us a little more about it…so now we’re ready to learn even more! I love your sweet spirit and determination! good luck!

  526. Cathy

Aarti, I am a couple episodes behind on TNFNS, but from the very first episode, I knew you were going to win! Your approach to food is inspiring, plus you are so cute and bubbly! It’s refreshing how down-to-earth you seem. :) I can’t wait to watch your show!

Also, I love the Indian food I have tried and can’t wait to try more!

  527. Carmen

So glad you won- you were the best and so inspiring to me. Congratulations!

  528. Beth

Hi Aarti, I just wanted to say congratulations! I’m so happy for you! It’s been 2 days since the announcement, but I’m still so excited for you! This may sound weird, but it’s almost like I feel that I won. I don’t know why. Like you, I have a different ethnic background (Filipino). Maybe this is why I can relate to you. I will definitely watch your Food Network show. You’ve inspired me to go to cooking school. I’m 44 years old, though. I’m not a great cook but I think I can learn to be one. What do you think? I hope to meet you someday. You’ve inspired a lot of people!

    Beth

  529. Maryanne

YIPPEE..I was so jazzed that you won…I’ll be looking forward to learning something about Indian cooking…I know, American..Italian and foods of the SW..Can’t wait to try some of your recipes…

  530. Sue

Finally-the person I was rooting for won!! You rock girl!

  531. Sue

I agree with ready for Aarti-Amy Finley let the bloggers run her off the food network-don’t read that stuff if it looks negative. There are plenty of people who really want to watch your show. Not everyone in the world can love you-so don’t worry about it.

  532. Sri

Congrats, for a job well done and the new show!!!

  533. Ann Cook

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Even my husband was cheering for you and he’s the last guy to be caught watching food network.

We’re so excited for you, Sister! Can’t wait to see the new show and so glad you’ve found your confidence! You so deserve this!

  534. Danielle

Congrats Aarti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When will your show air?

  535. KCatGU

SWEETNESS! You won, way to go – keep up the amazing progress

  536. Jessica

Hi Aarti, Congratulations! Although I do not follow the show a lot but I have a strong feeling that you will win in the end the minute I saw you on TV! There’s something special about you, your charisma, and the way you influence people. I can’t wait to see you on food network! Once again, congratulations and God bless you!

  537. Susie

Still so excited! I’d LOVE to hear what happened between the end of taping and when we all found out you’d won! What all happened betwixt and between?

I can’t wait to see your show!!

  538. RukmaniRam

Woohooo! We were all rooting for you!

    Can’t wait!

  539. Jennie

CONGRATULATIONS Aarti!! I was so excited that you won – you deserved it, and I can’t wait to get a little indian cookin’ going on in this southern kitchen!

  540. Shahnaz

Congratulations! I can’t wait to watch your show! I loved watching you from the start and you absolutely, positively deserved it!

I totally yelped when you won!

As an Indian girl who has never cooked enough Indian food for her mother’s liking, I’m super-pumped!

    Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  541. Stephanie

Congratulations, Aarti! My whole family was rooting for you. I know you will do great things!

  542. Nancy Markowski

I was rooting for you from the beginning. Finally, I will learn to cook Indian food. My cupboards have new spices in them and ready to go.

I hope you discuss the various spices because from what I read their is an Indian name but goes under another name here. I also hope you talk about the healthy aspects of these spices such as curry and tumeric.

I’m impressed and so were the judges and those who tasted the food.

Hope you teach us to make Nann for pizza.

  543. Emily Kringle

I am so excited for your new show Aarti! I love Indian Cuisine, but it is really intimidating, so I’m excited to see what you bring us!

  544. Niv Mani

wonderful to see Food network finally have an Indian Star!, looking forward to trying out any vegetarian recipes you offer up on your new show.. Good luck!

  545. Karen A.

I was so excited to learn you won. I am learning how to cook Indian from my neighbor and half the fun is learning at her side. You remind me of her warm and friendly demeanor.

I eagerly await the debut of your show. Best of luck!

  546. Becca S.

Congrats! I can’t wait to see your show!

  547. Tracy Dale

    Aarti!

We were SO THRILLED when you won! O M G! We adore you (myself and my lovely partner), and cannot wait for your show! We live in the sticks in FL and don’t have access to decent Indian food within less than an hour (thankfully there’s also a small Indian store in that town we can reach in that amount of time) – so we have to make it at home – and you JUST ROCK! THANK YOU for all you do!

    BrickTracy
    -Your Resident LegoHead-

  548. Debbie

Knew you would win from the beginning! I am so excited to find your blog as well and find recipes for so many of my favorite foods and flavors! My husband has traveled to India for numerous ministry trips and has loved the foods of India..I recently became a fan. I just finished six rounds of Chemo for Breast Cancer and had very little taste for most foods,. I could not get enough of the delicious bold flavors of Indian Cuisine …I am hooked and can’t wait for your own show to begin and to replicate some of your favorites! Go Aarti!!
    blessings!!

  549. Debbie

P.S….Can one join the “official” Aarti Pary??? I want to be a part too!!

  550. Erin

Congrats! I never had indian food growing up. My boyfriend introduced me to it about a year ago, and I love it! I am so excited to learn what you have to offer…you did a fabulous job on the show!

  551. Jim K

Congratulations Aarti!! I am looking forward to your show very much! I love to cook and a few years ago decided to experiment with Indian style food, and even though cookbooks are easy to find, I couldn’t find anything on TV. I can follow a recipe sure, all good home chefs can, but I really wanted to see someone on TV do it, to learn the secrets behind the printed recipe. Now we have it! Aarti Paarti!

  552. Lisa

Hi Aarti!! Congrats on the win, I am SOOOO happy for you. You are such a beautiful person and such an inspiration! Your personality makes me want to watch your show, regardless of what you are cooking!! I love your blog and I really hope that you keep it up. Good luck!!

  553. Logan

Congratulations to you, Aarti!! Had my fingers crossed for you all along!

  554. Emily

I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous for something on TV! I’m so excited for you! Congrats, Aarti! :-D

  555. Christy

Aarti! So, happy for you! I watched every episode this season and you were the clear winner from the beginning! I was just saying to a friend that I thought the selection committee would be crazy not to pick you! I love Indian food but have never ever attempted to make it myself. I can’t wait for you to teach me on your new show!

  556. Orrin

Congratulations on your win! (I’m shocked that there aren’t more comments here already.) I found your blog after the show mentioned you were a food blogger.

  557. Neha Gupta

    Hi Aarti!

    Yayyyy!

I’m anxiously awaiting your show! I’d love to start cooking Indian food! :) You’ll bring such a refreshing new spin to Food Network!

  559. Dan

From your blog on Food Network webpage: “I hope you’ll allow me one final shout-out to God: Father, You know I’m nothing without You. Thank you so much! AMEN! Selah!”

It is so awesome to hear a star proclaiming with sincerity where her gifts and talents come from. Congrats Aarti!

WOW I am so happy to read this! Here in Canada, we are still a few episodes back (next week you go to New York) I am so glad I know the outcome! Congratulations!

  576. Alice

Congrats to you! I have never felt particularly connected to the food made by contestants on NFNS before, but as a lover of Indian food, I was immediately won over.

As a young student/musician with limited time, money, and cooking experience, these dishes have been great to make. And of course, your blogs and videos totally line up with my quirky sense of humor, so it makes them all the more fun to watch.

Thank you for sharing your cooking talents with the world! May God be with you on your culinary journeys!

  577. Anu

    Hi Aarti,

My Hearty Congrats to you for becoming the Foodnetwork Star. Finally, I am getting an Indian food show. We really need a completely different show – am bored of watching the same old Italian etc. I would like to see you grow to Emmy winning stars like Ina, Bobby, Rachel etc. I would like to share some tips since I am getting Indian cooking show..hope u dont mind:

    1) Apart from regular dishes that we get in America like the Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Naan etc dishes – please show us the authentic dishes like the Idli, Dosa, Biryani etc. in the simplified style. Even though I am a South Indian – I can still use those tips in my everyday cooking.

    2) You should shoot an exclusive show on Indian pantry that has the spices, Vegetables etc. Remember – we eat a lot of different veggies like bitter melon, curry leaves, amaranth leaves, sorrel leaves etc

    3) Every state in India has its own unique recipes for example Dum Biryani, Sorrel chutney, Mirchi Ka Salaan from Andhra pradesh, Rasam, Sambar etc from Tamil Nadu, Bisi Belabath etc from Karnataka, Meen Moyili from Kerala and so on and so forth. Please do shows focusing on one state and their special foods. Giada does the same – I watch her show regularly and sometimes she does shows about Northern Italian, Sicily etc.

    4) Indian food is all about techniques, spices, taste and flavor. Please tell America that Indian food is not always about Garam Masala.

    5) Indian food takes a lot of time – please share your tips and techniques for entertaining friends and family with good food even for people who have full time jobs – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian stuff that I can make it in advance and dont have to slave in the kitchen..

Hope u like these tips. Cant wait to watch your show!! Good luck Aarti

    Luvv,
    Anu
