I can’t wait! It looks like it will be amazing!!

Aarti,
I just met you last week, not at the fabulous weekend you just had in Atlantic City but in the mall in West LA. We chatted awhile in a store?
I’m so HAPPY for you to be on the show and I’m praying that YOU are the WINNER. My gut says yes but I know I’ll have to wait and see. Please stay positive with your lovely personality. Always remember that there is something to be positive about…just think of your wonderful husband that should bring out that gorgeous smile of yours. We’re so glad we all got to see him in the last episode. Really looking forward to seeing the Iron Chef’s Challenge…YIKES! Pressure! Take care till we hear the results! Love & Blessings, Geri
August 4th, 2010 at 11:23 am
I know that you’re ready for Iron Chef, Aarti! Best of luck (even though it already happened) and we’re rooting for you!
August 4th, 2010 at 12:03 pm
They always edit these so you don’t know whats going to happen. I’m so anxious to see it. I made your tomato chutney and grilled cheese today. I think it was the best thing ! ever made! I can’t wait for another episode of Aarti Paarti whether it is on the Food Network or on Youtube, I just can’t wait.
August 4th, 2010 at 12:41 pm
Well, there’s a video clip that’ll build suspense!
Can’t wait to see the episode.
August 4th, 2010 at 12:46 pm
Aarti-
Why not just go ahead and tell everyone you’ve won already? It’s not like it’s a secret in the community that actually pays attention. I don’t get it. FN’s website had your profile up as a celebrity chef, *alone*, then once people noticed, took it down and then added all the contestants back up an hour later.
No talent hacks like you have no business on FN, but then again, scripps is desperate, I suppose, for some ratings. The mindless trolls that follow auntie Sandy and her drunk parade will also gobble you up and good fodder for “cooking.”
I’ll be praying… for the soul of the sparrow that crashed and died on the side of your head during episode 5. Poor thing never had a chance.
August 4th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
wow, they really edit those trailers to throw the viewer off. by the look of things, everyone did really well and poorly simultaneously. and they’re really riding the wave that you are on your way out.
regardless of what happen(s/ed) they’d be foolish not to give you a show anyway. you’re the best by far.
August 4th, 2010 at 3:34 pm
One thing for sure–should you win you will be the chef with the most expressive face on TV……..guess that’s why you leave us at the edge of our seats each week in the promos…
I think you are terrific and just what FN needs.
By the way don’t feel bad about the overcooked rice—you are in good company. Rice seems to be hard to handle in a pressure situation—– Remember Jeffrey Saad and the risotto last season in the semi-final—-Marcus Samuelsson said that dish was a disrespect to Italy!
On any day of the week I’ll bet Jeffrey could have made that rice dish perfectly and in his sleep…….
Best of luck to you.
August 4th, 2010 at 3:35 pm
I’m so excited! I love watching how you add a bit of Indian flare to your recipes while making it something your viewers can easily cook up in their kitchen.
August 4th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
I’m on the edge of my seat, I can’t wait to watch the next episode, and the suspense driven by this clip is not making it any better! I certainly hope that you will be the Next Food Network Star. You have such a friendly persona on TV, and your creations are so intriguing.
August 4th, 2010 at 5:40 pm
Aarti, Aarti, Aarti!!! How well I can relate to you! I understand your feelings of self doubt, I struggle everyday with my own. I find it so wonderful that you have made it so far on NFNS! Though I love all the last few contestants, I know you are my favorite! You have struggled, yes, but you stuck to your faith as well. I like how in one of your blogs you mentioned how God made you, and God doesn’t make junk! And how true! We always have to remember that, no matter what situation we are in or what might be getting us down. You are the only contestant that has mentioned faith! FAITH is everything; belief and trust in our God to carry us through is EVERYTHING! I’m so happy for you, and I can’t wait to see the final episodes. Iron Chef is my absolute favorite! Just waiting on the 1st episode of Aarti Paarti on FN! (Assuming and hoping you win!) My husband hated me watching TV before, now he will never get the remote!
Aarti, God bless you and good luck on everything you do, whether it be with FN or not. God LOVES you, and it looks like America does too!!!
August 4th, 2010 at 5:52 pm
Aarti,
My husband and I have really enjoyed watching you on FN. Both of us enjoy cooking and love the idea of adding an Indian twist to our dishes, so please keep putting out those shows.
Also, I’m sure you have heard that the power of life and death resides in the tongue. One of the people commenting on your blog today seemed rather cynical and his words were hurtful. You also know that when you know the truth, the truth will set you free (at least according to the man who would make a great conversationalist at dinner and always brings the best wine).
So please know: the truth is that you are good at both entertaining and teaching while you cook. Your personality translates through the camera to your audience, and your smile and charm seem fresh and genuine. I would say that is the truth about you, Aarti.
August 4th, 2010 at 6:09 pm
Aarti,
very difficult to guess who actually won….but i wish best of luck to you.. .
what ever may be the outcome .. you have the fan votes for sure (currently 31%) which does include my daily addition….

YAY FOR AARTI!!!!!!!!!!
Our cable was down for a few days in a windstorm and all my family could say was ‘now we don’t know what’s going to happen with Aarti!” How scarily obsessive is THAT?
You’ve so many people rooting for you Sister! Keep up the great work!
August 4th, 2010 at 7:11 pm
I will never understand mean-spirited people like the commenter above (FNHFan). Aarti, please don’t listen to that kind of nonsense.
Just by being on the show, you are inspiring people to cook. Me being one of them. After making your south indian coconut quinoa today for lunch while my babies were napping, I called my husband at work and said “I am SO HAPPY. Literally…so happy. I think Indian food makes my heart SING!!” So there — your food has magical powers to lift people up!
I am rooting for you, and even if you don’t win the show (which I think you totally will), there are big things in store for you… either way, I’m a huge fan, and I love your food! Keep up the great work!
August 4th, 2010 at 7:24 pm
Dear Aarti,
I love your creative cooking and your flair for style! I noticed that you wear hair accessories in every episode and would like to offer you a complimentary floral accessory off of my etsy site: http://www.etsy.com/shop/FairyTaleFashions
Please let me know which one you would like!
August 4th, 2010 at 7:56 pm
I already knew I loved Indian cuisine but you’ve given me the confidence to make it myself. Thank you, Aarti.
August 4th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Aarti,
You are strong, beautiful, and a fantastic chef! Ignore trolls and they will just blow away in the sidewind of your success!
HUGS TO YOU!
August 4th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
Hey Aarti,
Go get ‘em ! I am already looking forward to your show on FN. Cant believe how long I have waited for an Indian cuisine show !!!
And keep the courage.. and believe in your self.. and you dont have to be brave all the time.. just pretend and no one can tell the difference esp. if you top it off with a smile…
August 4th, 2010 at 9:49 pm
Oh my goodness…I am nervous already. Not for you of course because I am sure you rocked it! But as always, I am rooting for you!
August 5th, 2010 at 1:08 am
I love your personality Aarti. I actually had never watched Food Network Star and as I was flipping through the television, I caught one of your camera challenges and just LOVED you and your food. Im an addict of the show now, and am rooting for you every week!
I really hope you win!
August 5th, 2010 at 5:38 am
Keep it up Girl – I can’t wait to see it when you have your own FN show – (I really, really hope). Ignore the haters who get their “material” from someone else (FNH) – The Lord is clearly using you – really – to have some of the comments you have made make it past editing – showing you read your bible and your bible quote about fear – all while actually showing you in a pretty good light – I know TV shows edit for drama – if the worst thing they can say about you is that your shy and sometimes lack self confidence – that says something. I LOVE your culinary P.O.V – (I made your Green Chicken Curry and my husband ate more than half the pot (Plus basmati AND homemade naan), then afterwards he laid on the couch and groaned “I’m dying honey, I’m dying of delicous food….”
I truly am rambling – I know. But I love you and if you’re ever in near Cleveland Ohio stop in and say HI!
August 5th, 2010 at 9:43 am
You can DO it! I’m pulling for you!!! And praying!
I would LOVE to watch your show – your smile is contagious!!!

Hi Aarti! Just wanted to let you know that my Hubby & I (We’re total foodies) are rooting for you every week on the show! I watch more hours of food network than I care to admit, and I’d LOVE to watch a show by YOU! Whatever happens in the end, God Bless & KEEP teaching us your ways!
Love, The Edwards
August 5th, 2010 at 10:34 am
So glad to hear from you-I’ve missed your blogs! Like the person above, my husband also got sick from eating too much of your green chicken curry plus beatnick spinach too while watching last weekend’s NFNS. We are so-o-o routing for you! You have so inspired me to cook Indian food that I have revamped my entire spice cabinet to include so may new spices I had to expand it! No more curry powder for this girl! We just know you’re the winner, but whether you win or not, with your charming personality and talent, you’re definitely going places!! I will continue to religiously follow your blog! All the best!!!
August 5th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
Seems intense! I always hate how Food Network edits these commercials so you don’t really know who is being talked to. (Case in point: In one of the past episodes the commercial made it seem like they were saying something bad to Aarti, but it was actually towards someone else)
I have a feeling that you will win this. I just found your YouTube channel and was amazed! You and the camera have a great relationship already and you are ready for national TV! Good luck!!
August 5th, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Aarti, I am rooting for you, to win the Food Network Star. I will really have no desire to watch if you are not going to be in the Finale.
August 5th, 2010 at 4:20 pm
Go girl go! would love to see a little madhur jaffrey on tv
August 5th, 2010 at 7:41 pm
Can’t wait to see Sunday’s episode Aarti! The judges keep giving you a tough time about “doubting yourself,” but I think your humility and transparency are really refreshing. Keep up the great work, and I’m rootin’ for ya!
August 5th, 2010 at 8:30 pm
ahhhhh…. I cant wait!! I know you know and God is timeless so I’m still praying for the shows that have happened … Keep smiling for HIM and shining HIS light and you’ll be great!

Aarti,
I love watching you on NFNS. Rooting for you all the way! They NEED to give you your own show. As a viewer, I (and I’m sure many others) can see that the judges LOVE you. So stop having those ‘doubting yourself ‘ moments because you have no reason to feel that way!
You have what it takes to become the next star.
You can do it!
August 8th, 2010 at 7:27 am
Aarti,
My husband and I are rooting for you from day one of the next FNS. You are the best of the lot and you will win. I am an Indian and am surprised to see that you so seamlessly infuse indian and mediterranean to suit the American palate. You remind me of my sister back home in India
You have inspired me a lot Aarti. We are really proud of you and can’t wait to watch your first show in FN.
Best wishes!

August 8th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Dear Aarti,
You are doing great job on the show. I can’t wait to watch your show on food network. I have been a great fan of food network and it’s definitely missing the indian cuisine. You are going to fill that up
I can’t wait for next week show..I am sure you will be the star..
August 8th, 2010 at 7:15 pm
OMG congrats on making it into final 3 – you are my favorite on NFNS!! I am so nervous for you – hope you win! you seem so awesome and down to earth!

Aarti – I have loved your personality from the first episode. My family is Italian so Indian food is something I’ve never eaten or made but you make me very excited to try it.

Hi Aarti,
I just want you to know that I am praying for you to be the Next Food Network Star! You have one of the most beautiful personalities that I’ve seen on that show. I just want you to be confident in the Lord and he will give you the confidence you need to LET HER RIP!! If you do what you’re capable of, there is no way that you can lose. Remain blessed friend!! GO Aarti Paarti!!!
August 8th, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Just watched the Iron Chef episode of Food Network Star and so happy that you won the challenge !!! I am your biggest fan and can’t wait for you to have your own show and your cookbook.
Can you possibly share your 3 shrimp recipes that all the Iron Chefs liked so much?
God bless you!
August 9th, 2010 at 7:47 am
Hi! I just had the time to sit down and find your blog and I had to say of all the people on NFNS you are the only person on there who i would truly want to watch! I am always so interested in the food and the flavors that you cook and I have to get the guts to try something that involves more than using my microwave! I really hope you win/won so I can learn from you!
August 9th, 2010 at 7:57 am

Love your blog and you on NFNS! I will be so sad if you did not win, but I cannot imagine that.
One huge request— could you please check each recipe for accuracy that FN posts on their site? There are SO many mistakes made! Our whole family just adores you and are so happy for your success! We are going to have Indian night once a week as a request from my DH. Wishing you all the best!!
August 9th, 2010 at 9:14 am
Aarti, your food on NFNS has been uniformly excellent and your voice is a delight to the ears. And you are finally getting a boost in self confidence. You know food. You know in your head that you know food. Now you need to know it in your gut.
August 9th, 2010 at 11:12 am
My heart skipped several beats when Iron Chef Symon commented on your food!!! We are watching and waiting for the final show. Best of luck!
August 9th, 2010 at 11:53 am
Many blessings…I watch the show every week and pray! I know that the outcome has already occurred, but I am on the edge…praying for an awesome outcome. I really love tha fact that you are not afraid to show your faith.
August 9th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
I think we all know you’re going to win. EVERYBODY GO VOTE FOR AARTI ON THE FOOD NETWORK WEBSITE! Even though you’re super far ahead in the voting “competition,” we just wanna secure your place on Food Network.
From the very first episode of NFNS, I was like, “That girl is gonna win.” Once you prepared your homey Indian food, I was just so excited. Food Network really needs an Indian Cooking show, because it just happens to be one of the BEST cuisines in the world! You’re a very unique, beautiful, and ambitious chef. Nothing can stop you now.
You won’t end up like all the other winners of NFNS, because unlike them, you will definitely get tons of viewers and will stick around much longer. It’s for sure.
~Lydia

Aarti-
You remind me so very much of one of my favorite Indian students, a very sprited and intelligent young woman named Sapna. I have been rooting for you from the very first show. You are a delight to watch. I’m running off to the store to buy some garam masala. It’s Aarti Party at my house tonight!
Cheers to you!
August 10th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
Aarti!!! We’re having so much fun watching the show and cheering you on. I hope you win, because if you don’t there’s going to be a *real* throwdown with Bobby Flay
I like Tom and Herb, but Food Network needs something new that only you can bring.
By the way, my college roommate was Indian by way of Dubai, too, so I admit I am a bit biased towards you anyway, but aside from that, 99 percent of what you’ve made on the show looked delicious (I wasn’t much about the egg dish, but that’s okay!) and Food Network can only have so many Italian/Southern/Latin chefs. We need variety!
For now I am stealing your tandoori chicken recipe and will have my husband cook it Sunday in your honor. I haven’t had Indian food in eons because the spices stain my braces, but as they are coming off tomorrow (finally!) I am going to start studying your blog like the SAT’s!
August 10th, 2010 at 8:33 pm
What a great episode! I just love watching you, you are so humble and your food looks and sounds great! Hope you do well next week!
August 10th, 2010 at 9:49 pm
AARTI!!!!!!! I’m so excited, really rooting for a BIG WIN. I’ve been giving all my 10 votes a day on foodtv.com to you. It’s about time the US/FOODTV has an Indian cook. In my books you’ve already won. Good luck – Anu from the hot phoenix desert.
August 10th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Hi, I’m a college student at U of I, and I cannot tell you how much I want you to win!! After watching you on Food Network, my boyfriend and I finally decided to try Indian food at a nearby restaurant. It was wonderful! You inspired me to try something I never would have otherwise, and I truly hope that you have the opportunity to continue on the Food Network to encourage me (and others like me!) to take steps beyond our comfort zones in the kitchen. That, to me, is the definition of a star. The only problem I’d have with you winning is that my roommates don’t want to pay for cable!
August 11th, 2010 at 2:21 pm
Aarti ~ Food Network would be just STUPID NOT to hire you! Tom is good: But he seems to resemble Guy & Duff at times. Herb is good too: He is a hot Latino but there is something missing with him and I can’t quite place it. YOU: Are different from all the other hosts on that network. I hope the judges all see this. I so hope you win..and I don’t even care for Indian Cuisine! (but maybe that was the fault of the only Indian restaurant I tried.)
August 11th, 2010 at 3:46 pm
Good Luck Aarti! I hope you win FNS!!! Congrats for making it to the finals! You are awesome
August 11th, 2010 at 4:19 pm

I really, really, really hope you win this season! You are such a classy girl, a real role model to me.
Wishing you the best of luck!

Aarti,
You are a role model for young minorities and are doing a great job. Young people of color need strong influences such as yourself to show them that they can succeed, and to set their sights high. Congratulations and thank you for staying true to your culture.

Don’t know where to post this… SO HAPPY YOU WON the Next Food Network Star. You were my gal from the beginning. Made your samosa’s…. Delish! can’t wait to see your show!!
August 17th, 2010 at 11:55 am
Dear Aarti-
First of all, congratulations on winning “The Next Food Network Star”- you were one of my favorite contestants all along, and you also seem like a genuine, down to earth person, both on the show and on your youtube videos.
I see that the trolls have already found you though, and would like to offer a word of caution. Do not have anything to do with the website “Food Network Humor”. From Day One, they have been completely hateful to you there. I see that someone from there posted some of their bile, and am sorry you had to read it.
Most of the people who post there are notoriously cruel and mean spirited, and the site’s administrator is an admitted Christian basher.
Steer clear of them, please.
I wish you much success and happiness with your show, and I look forward to watching it when it airs!
Take care,
Anne

Aarti,
Congratulations.
Where are your parents from?
I am from Kerala. I also love cooking and cook a little bit like you!
I am so glad that you did the cooking show.
Good luck to you.

Dear Aarti,
I’m delighted for you that you won! Congratulations!! I knew you’d do it when you kept getting rave reviews from the people you cooked for. And when you blew Bobby Flay out of the water, I knew you had it! Can you ask FN to repost your pizza recipe please? I looked everywhere for it and it’s no longer on the site as far as I could tell. Thanks & Welcome!
August 22nd, 2010 at 9:09 am
dear aarti,
love your sheesh kebabs. but your recipe said to bring lamb to room temperature. if your going to cook your kebabs on the grill, soak’em in water so they don’t burn.
i know what you ment to do but soak the skewers not the lamb.
thanks for the recipe good luck.
September 5th, 2010 at 9:35 am
Dear Aarti,
I am soooo glad you won! I just became a lover of Indian food two years ago and I HAVE been so intimidated to try cooking it out of fear of the spices and methods. I made your Sloppy Bombay Joes last night and I LOOOOVED them! Sooo easy! My husband and I had seconds and liked our plates clean! Just so delicious! I DVR your show and LOVE it!
You’re adorable!
Thanks so much for the great recipes! When will you have a book??
BEST WISHES

Dear Aarti,
I’ve always loved cooking. I wanted you to win the NFNS {the next food network star} from the beginning. I’m Indian too and I love the way you make regular American food with an Indian twist. I think it’s a great point of view! Your recipe for Indian pizza was genius! I would have never thought of that! I think your kind, caring, sweet, smart, clever, a genius, amazing, creative, calm, and someone I would want to be friends with. I always want to cook, but the only things that I can make are sandwiches, lychee punch, coffee, chocolate milk, and trail mix. I think you’re a natural on camera and born to be a cooking show host. I think you had the best chance of winning. Some advise I give: believe in yourself and keep on going. You’re my favorite food network star! I wish you good luck on your show, and I’ll see you on Aarti Party.
Sincerely,
Megha Anand
