Aarti, you are such an inspiration to me–and you have definitely made me want to try Indian cooking. It is my dream to attend culinary school, so while I am waiting on God to open that door, I spend my days cooking at home. I mostly do things with either American, Mexican, or Italian flavors….but that will change =)
Reading through your blog has been such an encouragement. We are both Christians and yet, we both struggle with the same moments of self doubt. It’s a blessing to know that I am not alone.
You are very diligent writing on here. Now that I am done vacationing, I should get back to my cooking blog. Here’s hoping that you win (though I am a Brad fan as well =)
IN Christ,
Ella

You’re probably accustomed to this by now, but to just think that a huge star like Bobby Flay tastes your food and comments on it is frightening but still awesomely exciting! I can’t wait for Sunday night! Every time a commercial for the show comes on, my eyes are glued to the TV, hahah. Best of luck, Aarti!
July 22nd, 2010 at 11:37 pm

Hey Aarti,
I wish you good luck. What I like about you being on Food Network is, that I finally get to see some Indian there, on the big screen, competing with various other culinary experts. You are so bubbly and innovative.
You are so good at mixing Indian spices into American food. This has become an inspiration to me. Anyways, keep shining and smiling. All the best wishes to you.

Aarti
First of all good luck , good luck with the Food Network Star Search .I guess that its time that Food Network gets a Asian chef on the show.
One quick suggestion , you’re cooking style American cooking with Indian touch is your niche area . Can you try to expand that to Asian cuisine and not limit that to just Indian cooking…
July 25th, 2010 at 7:55 pm
Hi Aarti, I just found your blog after watching NFNS. Keep up the good work, I’ll be reading this on a regular basis now. Thanks.

I am so glad I found your blog and your adorable YouTube show! I was not a regular viewer of NFNS until this season and I have to tell you that you are a huge part of that!
I have never cooked a single Indian dish, but I am so inspired now… what would you suggest for a novice such as myself?

Hey, Aarti. I love your blog and you’re one of my top picks for winner, but you should really stop throwing around the name “Aarti Paarti”. At this point, it sounds overused and my friends and I are getting tired of hearing it. I mean this in the best possible way. Keep your chin up and go win this thing. Looking forward to your delicious Indian food on the Food Network!
July 26th, 2010 at 2:17 pm
Aarti,
I just love you!! I am praying that you win, you so deserve to be our next Food Network Star! I have wanted you to win since day one. I was so fortunate to meet you at the New School of Cooking.
I have everyone cheering you on. Wishing you the best!

Your food on The Next Food Network Star has had me drooling for weeks. I’m on a mission to try your kebabs, pronto!
I hope you win because I really need help with figuring out how to make good Indian food.
July 26th, 2010 at 5:57 pm
It sounds like Brad’s pep talk was totally right on. My husband, my 8 and 11 year old are watching every week and rooting for you. I thought Bobby was unfairly harsh on you when you when you had your bad week. It was so refreshing to see someone who was honest on TV. We watched last night and thought you did a fantastic job and you deserved to win. We like Brad lots too btw. We wish you continued success and believe you might be one of the few people on the planet who won’t be ruined by fame:)
July 26th, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Aarti,
You are so cool! I hope you win NFNS because I think you have real star power! Team Aarti!
July 26th, 2010 at 7:17 pm
Aarti, I hope you win the NFNS! My boyfriend and I watch every week, and we love you!
You make me want to try Indian food- and I’ve never had any before!
July 26th, 2010 at 7:33 pm
YAY, AARTI!!!! Bobby is hard to please and you rocked it! Awesome job and keep up the good work! Also, excellent job as team leader! If I had to chose a team of cooks to help me make a meal, I’d chose you, Julia Child, and Anne Burrell. Thanks for everything you do, and good luck on next week’s episode!
July 27th, 2010 at 7:33 am
Aarti,
My 10-year-old daughter, Anna, and I have been watching you on NFNS and have really fallen in love with you and your cooking. We have downloaded most of your recipes and plan to make both the tandoori chicken and the green curry chicken in the next week or so. Thank you for making Indian food so accessible.
Having spent many years in corporate America, I’ve seen that as a rule women underestimate their abilities while men overestimate theirs. So don’t be too hard on yourself about self-confidence issues. Every chef — Thomas Keller, Giada, Bobby Flay — has his or her critics so try not to focus on the occasional naysayer. You have a lot of people out here who love you and your cooking. Don’t forget that!
We both love Brad as well but hope that one way or another we’ll see you both on FN in the years to come. Best of luck with everything!
July 27th, 2010 at 8:41 pm
Woah! That’s a lot of comments. Look at you go!
ps – did you get my text? bullet proof song was on the radio.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:35 pm
It has to be you!! You just have to be the one that wins! My husband and I watch every week and if it were up to us, you would have already won! YOU make us want to make your recipes. No one else on this season of TNFNS has done that. You’re exactly what TFN needs!
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you! XO

Congrats on winning and a wonderful show. I just watched the premire and I must tell you, the choices for your dishes looked awesome! I can’t wait to try them! I will have to add some spices to my already stuffed shelf, but thats what I wanted to do anyway. HAHA Looking forward to watching more shows and trying many of your recipes. You really made the dishes look easy to make and they where very inspiring. TY so much and Best Wishes to what I think will be a awesome future with Food Network.

August 22nd, 2010 at 1:10 pm
I know this was your first show and the nerves were there. Watch all the giggles. It was distracting, and took away from your tips and your presentation.
August 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pm
I love Indian food and you charmed me immediately so I definitely rooted for you from the very beginning. Congratulations on your win of TNFS. Couldn’t wait to see your first show, which I did today. It’s a winner. I had been looking for a different side dish for fish and your lemony kale/mango salad will be perfect. At our house, we are thanking our Father, too, for your success.
August 23rd, 2010 at 5:36 am
Hi Aarti, congratulations on your win, it was well deserved. My wife and I followed your progress on the show. This season was truly awesome. I wanted to throw something out to you my wife is a radio host of a midday inspirational show on American Family Association. The show is on a Christian network and my wife would love to interview you on her show. Meeke (my wife) started a food recipe club about a month ago and there are now about 400 people involved in it. If you are interested please contact me at wadd...@afa.net. Thanks.

Aarti,
Congrats! Thank you so much for pulling through for all of us. I was panicking during the finale, thinking “what the heck am I gonna do if I can’t learn how to make tandoori chicken like she does!?!?”. Lucky me. I tried it and my palate nearly exploded with flavor! It does taste as good as it looks on TV! Anyway, I’m so proud of you for your determination to overcome the “monkey on your back”. There was no reason for him in the first place. I knew, even when Aria was shining in the beginning, that you had something special and exciting. I’m just so happy for you. Congrats!
August 24th, 2010 at 1:34 pm
Aarti!
I was so happy that you won! No one else had the charm, wit and charisma to go along with their culinary talents. Your fist show made me proud. I laughed chuckled and was amazed by the great poise you had. The camera loves you as we all do. You move like an exotic dancer in the kitchen and I love the way you talk to your food. I could almost taste and smell your food from your lovely descriptions. I will be preparing the recipes tomorrow for my family. I have your show dvr’d and look forward to watching every single one. Once again, Congratulations and Much Success!

Hi Aarti – first off congrats on your win! You probably don’t read all these comments, but I wanted to give you a huge shout out because you really seem grounded, modest and genuine. I think that’s why you had so many people rooting for you (including me – I literally cried during the Iron Chef episode where you kicked some serious ass). Not to mention that you come across beautiful and warm on camera. Stay true to yourself sister and I’ll be watching your show from here on in.
Cheers,
Kay from Toronto
