Baby names

There must have been something in the water or the air 9 months ago, because I seem to be looking at photos of newborn babies, bred by my friends, everywhere!

I’m feeling a little left out of this season’s must-have accessory, but alas, there’s no way I can afford one at the mo’. Can’t wait until I can though! I’ll have a whole football team!

In the meantime, Bren and I spent an hour talking through potential baby names. When your husband is a creative, non-conventional and opinionated actor, you know you’ll have some crazy ones; his favourite is “Quest” if it’s a boy. Quest. Our son, Quest. He’ll have big ears, a big nose, unruly curly hair and will probably bury his nose in books. He’s just asking for a fight, isn’t he?

We both realised that we have more potential girl names than boys. Which is hilarious because, on Bren’s side, there’s only boys. No girls. He only has brothers. I fear for my future. I see lots of dirty, yelling boys running around me. I’ll get ‘em in a tutu though. Just you wait and see.

Sigh. Diet Coke and pizza-induced thoughts on a Friday night. What are you doing?

Every time we talk about baby names, we always end up focusing on girl names, too! At least your husband doesn’t study ancient Greek philosophy. Matthew’s suggestions are always names of muses or presocratic philosophers; we’re going to end up with Thalia and Anaximander. :)

Rich wants Ari for a boy or Arielle for a girl and he isn’t budging!!
