Oh Aarti.

Aarti, aarti, aarti…

I’d just like to take this moment to show you how silly your brain is sometimes. And I say all of this with love. But let’s be honest.

You’ve wanted to get this website up for months and months now. You talked a lot of jazz about it. To a lot of people. Because you are a good jazz-talker. Jazz-do’er… that’s another story altogether! That’s because you’re Princess Procrastinator-belle!

Princess Procrastinator-belle doesn’t like to do a LOT of heavy lifting.  In fact, she really likes whining about how hard the project will be… for months!  She has turned into that person she never thought she would be — someone who doesn’t understand “that thar modern technology business”.

Your accountability group asked you about it, week in, week out, for months, patiently coming up with palatable baby steps for you to munch on. You hounded your sister’s soon-to-be husband and your friend Andy with exactly 1.54 ka-billion questions, took every class possible on Lynda, poured over several template websites before choosing these guys, went to and fro with your littlest sister over your logo… it never seemed to end.

But that’s what happens when you’re a perfectionist, Aarti. You’ll never get anything done if you’re waiting for perfection.

Exhibit A: snapshots of your calendar that you would carefully write out every Sunday evening. Let’s see how many times you mentioned your blog, shall we?

But finally, dear aarti, you’ve done it.  And we, whoever we might be, would like to say… YEE-HAW!  FINALLY!

Lesson learned?

Probably not.  Kicking Princess Procrastinator-belle is a huge project.

For another time, perhaps.
